| Hi chaps, a couple of questions regarding Beast Packs: 1) I suspect this has been asked before, but what are they like at the moment? I know they're not as good as they were in 5th, but I didn't use them in 5th so I haven't got much of a comparison. 2) Do you think they could work as an escort for a (jetbike) Corsair Prince? He'll have a Voidblade (S5 AP3, Rending) and will be a Lv1 Psyker with Divination. He can also have a Shimmershield to give the entire unit a 5++. Could this make for a decent melee unit? | |

| Razorwings have been beaten severely with the nerf stick and are not worth considering. Khymerae aren't bad and already have a 5++ so you could save in the Shimmershield. Clawed Fiends with a 5++ might be worth it but I'd rather have Grots! | |

Fair enough. The reason I'm not considering Grots (or Incubi, for that matter) is with Corsairs I finally have access to an HQ who can take Jet Pack or a Jetbike, and I intend to savour that. Would Reaver Jetbikes be a better escort, do you think?

| Reavers are a decent cc unit with the HoW attacks and Hit & Run, and the Prince would add to that but I think I'd still prefer a Craftworld Autarch, due to the Banshee Mask. Prince not a bad option though, especially as a psyker. | |

Ah, okay. In that case I'll just use one of the units from the Corsair book as an escort. Thanks for your help.

| I've not yet got my hands on the Corsair book so it's hard to say whether beasts or reavers might be a better option than anything else in there. | |

| Clawed fiends would be a pretty good escort in my opinion. 4 for 120 isn't a huge investment and with the shimmer shield it's a fairly tough, fast unit that packs a pretty good punch, but is still small enough to be hide-able. They also don't care too much about overwatch from anything besides Scythe-guard (or a full tau army). | |
