| copied and pasted, dont hate me if they are not true Dark Eldar codex rumors!
Dark Eldar Rumors! The next Dark Eldar codex is due out in the second half of 2016 with several changes. Raiders are *free* for anything that can take dedicated transports. Venoms are not free but can disembark passengers after moving 12″. Wyches sound *good* and fluffy – and they’re getting new models. They all get shred and hydra gauntlets cause blindness. They also have the innate ability to choose to wound off their choice of attributes rather than toughness. So they can pick initiative and wound Necrons on a 3+. That’s what Wyches do to slow people. Their Hecatrix rerolls *everything* in a challenge. Combat drugs are on a 2D6 chart and are optional. Darklight weapons (dark lances, blasters, blast pistols) all gain the blind special rule. During night fighting all enemy units are treated as affected by the blind special rule and there are powers to make it dark on various rounds. Whenever a Dark Eldar unit with the Power From Pain rule attacks an enemy unit that’s blinded, those attacks gain rending and instant death. Power from Pain is no longer a turn chart. Instead there are different types of pain the army focuses on, during a given turn and the army fights differently based on what’s chosen. No more details other than that. The Court of the Archon gets a second copy of the warlord’s warlord power. Additionally enemies do not achieve the Slay the Warlord objective until they’ve killed both the warlord and the Court. Succubi are like what Lilith Hesperax is right now. Not exactly sure what that means. Hellions can hit-and-run on their initiative step rather than at the end of the combat round. Shoot, assault, make CC attacks, and then bounce out of combat before the enemy can make their attacks. Wracks are 2W and any character automatically passes LOS rolls if they have a Wrack with them.

| That sounds far too good to be true... where do you have these rumors?
Edit: Found the source. For those who are interested it is on: https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2016/01/29/signals-from-the-frontline-407/
Anyway, that would be really amazing but I try not to become too excited for now.

| What? If that's true... Blind is exactly the rule I want to see with dark Eldar! Please let this be true!
Where do you got those from?

| Does anyone know Frontline's track record, in terms of printing rumors that actually turn out to be at least somewhat accurate? | |

| I want to believe this, I really do.
The source seems to be Frontline Gaming but unsure if there is a further source.
Rumours are better than no rumours but for now this looks too salty.

| Free Raiders? Sounds like false rumors. Space marines get free rhinos which cost, effectively, half the points of a raider. Might be in a formation though.
I want a Superheavy Skimmer with Beam profile D-weapons. That would be new and unique too.

| I can see free raiders in a formation. Rumours are that GW are toying with several "free X" formations to increase sales.
The wych ideas sounds great. A very fluffy way to show their supreme martial art skills with exploiding their opponents weaknesses. It does seem to powerfull though.
Plenty of salt needed. But my oh my it would be great

| The fact that it says new models for Wyches immediately set alarm bells ringing. The Wych kit is only a few years old and perfectly good. In fact it's fantastic! It's the rules that lets them down, not the models!
I'm going to call BS on this but there are a few nice ideas in there.

| An anti tank weapon that's not wasted if you use it to kill Infantry because the rest of the squad carries Splinter rifles. And it would fit the fluff. | |

| I could imagine these rules being part of a campaign book, possibly granting some good formations which provide the mentioned changes.
Especially the "free Raider" and Hellion rules sound far off from what GW is doing outside formations. And since the rumors are quite cult heavy, I could imagine that those formations were made with a specific theme/scenario in mind.
It would match well with the fact that Vect's Dais is (again) rumored to be released with a campaign book.

Frontline (posts as Reecius on DakkaDakka) has a track record in the ongoing rumor tracker thread on that board of 4 true to 15 false rumors. Not the hottest odds. Strangely, I never get sick of hearing about DE rumors that are even fractionally plausible.

Having an ability that has zero effect on vehicles on anti-tank weaponry is, quite simply, terrible design.

| I like the idea because it's a fluffy way for us to fight. We fight dirty. Those rules reflect that. If you want an army that fights straight forward, you're at the wrong club, mate.
Think about it that way: if you shoot at tanks, the Splinter Rifle is wasted, if you shot at Infantry, the Blaster wouldn't be anymore. And giving all our troops rending when fighting against blinded troops is super cool and potent!

Very well possible. Almost every army has a 7th edition codex now, so the 8th can't be too far away. And out of all the 7th ed. codices, Dark Eldar is easily the most outdated. - Skulnbonz wrote:
- Raiders are *free* for anything that can take dedicated transports.
Venoms are not free but can disembark passengers after moving 12″. Those sound like formation rules to me. As base rules, it would be above Tau-level of cheese. - Skulnbonz wrote:

Better weapon rules are definitely welcome, but new models? The current ones are pretty good, and I can't imagin GW giving Wyches of all things the TacMarines treatment. Maybe the new models are Bloodbrides, to make them a distinct unit. - Skulnbonz wrote:

I could see Hekatrizes rerolling everything as another formation rule, but replacing Toughness with another stat of choice for to-wound rolls sounds too cheesy even for that. Besides, what would be fluffy about forcing the enemy to use its Ballistic Skill for defense? - Skulnbonz wrote:
- Combat drugs are on a 2D6 chart and are optional.
"Optional" means you have to pay extra points for them. I sure can see that happening. A 2D6 chart would mean there's 12 possible effects though, and that's bit much. - Skulnbonz wrote:
- Darklight weapons (dark lances, blasters, blast pistols) all gain the blind special rule.
Huh? That sounds like someone completely misinterpreted what darklight is. For the record: Darklight weapons are lasers based on light from another dimension. They don't blind targets, they vaporize them. And why would a designated anti-tank weapon need that rule anyway? - Skulnbonz wrote:
- During night fighting all enemy units are treated as affected by the blind special rule and there are powers to make it dark on various rounds.
Night fighting past turn 1 sounds like a big formation rule. But how would anything justify the whole enemy army suddenly seeing even worse in the dark? - Skulnbonz wrote:
- Whenever a Dark Eldar unit with the Power From Pain rule attacks an enemy unit that’s blinded, those attacks gain rending and instant death.
Again, possibly a formation rule. Sounds like something Mandrakes could pull off. - Skulnbonz wrote:
- Power from Pain is no longer a turn chart. Instead there are different types of pain the army focuses on, during a given turn and the army fights differently based on what’s chosen. No more details other than that.
So, like that thing the AdMech does? - Skulnbonz wrote:

I'm sorry, but in the words of Riley Freeman: "Da's some ol' booooo'crap!" - Skulnbonz wrote:

3++ Dodge? I wouldn't mind that. But Lelith would then need an even better save... - Skulnbonz wrote:

Wracks are 2W and any character automatically passes LOS rolls if they have a Wrack with them. Yet more possible formation rules. So much for my impressions.
