Need Help Finalizing my Regular 1850 List!

Hey everyone!

I was looking for some help/advice with narrowing down a solid go-to, DE list.
This is the list I have come up with:

Dark Artisan

- Talos w/ Ichor

- 2x Medusa IN Venom w/ dual S.C

- 5x Kabs w/ Blaster IN Venom w/ S.C

- 5x Scourge w/ 4x HW
- 5x Scourge w/ 4x HW
- 5x Scourge w/ 4x HW

Heavy Support

- Ravager w/ 3x D.L
- Ravager w/ 3x D.L

DE CAD 2

- 2x Medusa IN Venom w/ S.C

- 5x Kabs w/ Blaster IN Venom w/ S.C

And thats that, 1848 points of DE. I know that some people on this board are adverse to throwing blasters in kab units, however there have been alot of situations where I WISHED that I had; versatility can go along ways. Also, concerning the new FAQ, I fall under the "frak jinking" category 90% of the time, and will, when strategically advantageous, disembark my kabs onto an objective, or at a key choke point on the table.

That being said, what do you think of the list?! Are there any changes that you would recommend?

Yea... I have pretty random models, but through trades and what not, Ive got most of this stuff at around 15% retail, so I cant complain haha.

I know you said you prefer them with blasters, but I'd swap all the blasters out to upgrade 1 of your warrior venoms to a unit of trueborn with 4 blasters, if you really want kabalites with blasters. At least that way it's not so inefficient.

It also happens to work out perfectly, points-wise.

Drop all blasters = +75 points
Upgrade 1 unit of warriors to trueborn = -15 points
Give 4 blasters back to trueborn -60 points

I had considered that but my rational against it was that if I get the blasterborn, I am making my opponents targeting decision easy. Everyone will target the blasterborn unit, and due to their short range, and the FAQs 6" move=embarked jinking crap, they will pretty much always been in range of my opponent.

Alternatively, the blaster venoms provide redundancy; there is no "better" unit to shoot because they are all the same. Which allows me to field 5 moderate AT threats as opposed to 1 heavy AT threat, and with decent movement decisions (how I seem to win most of my games, cause.... DE codex), they should be able to do their job, i.e., finish off a transport, then the venom lights up the infantry.

Ideally, I would just drop the blasters and 2 medusa and get a ravager but I've got a crap ton of painting to do before I buy anything else haha

Do everything else look decent by DE standards??

I mean, redundancy is good, but I agree that the one blaster is an old mind set.

in theory its good, but in reality the strength of the venom units is not the people inside, but the ability to drop them off and double your obsec units.

I just cant imagine what one blaster shot will accomplish before being blown up, flamed, or having to jink after getting within 18".

My venoms hardly get within 30" of enemies now (unless stealing an objective of course).  Pre measuring over powered lol.

Yeah, if I ran the blasterborn, I'd probably just plan on deep striking the venom most of the time, for a well-positioned burst of fire to some rear or side armour.

You've got plenty of AT too, so I don't necessarily think they're going to focus fire your blasterborn before your ravagers and scourges.
