I also like the idea of pain tokens. I have an idea...and Corec Engineering may be the way to go. I haven't come up with the aesthetics, just the functionality. Something that basically works like the Trivial Pursuit team counter you put the pie pieces in.

Cool. We'd need to decide on the actual content but as pain tokens I think they'd be good.

Though i am not really sold on the idea of poker chips as pain tokens ( i'd prefer actual models) here is someone that might help you...

Would people prefer dice do you think? Deep purple? Black?

As i said above, i am way more in for dice. The envious looks you get when you play with the army-matching dice fills every cold heart with joy.

And, IMO, you use the dice way more often... and i want to scratchbuild some paintokens and if there are some plastic-discs around, i know, i won't bother...

I do agree that dice are more universal - it's just that pain tokens are 'unique' to dark eldar.

If we say dice we just need to figure out - type/size/shape (ie rounded edges, pips etc), colour (black, purple, red?) and the icon/design location - the 1 or the 6 (I myself say the 6!) and the symbol to use as the icon/design.

Also minimum buy in?

I would go for some dice. It would be awesome if we could get matching scatter dice, too.

I think the scatter dice could be pretty expensive. I've emailed some guys (dice.co.uk) - seems they have an actual chart here:

We probably need to

i) set up a poll of who's in,
ii) amount required (20 per person or just one /few per person?)
iii) colour(s)
iiii) design(s) - the particular symbol to go on the dice
v) if the design goes on the 1 or 6

I would go for the 22mm (they just have a nice feel in the hand)...

I agree on 22mm. The trick will be graphics. I'm ok for the odd photoshop hatchet job but I'm not sure about vectored graphics!

I would be interested in both dice and a t-shirt / hoodie if they come about; I think some of the pain tokens are a good idea too, but dice are something I can never get enough of

I only caught a glimpse of this thread today (20-NOV-11) I would be interested in Dice -or- the pain tokens.

I will eagerly watch this thread and hope that we can get something off the ground soon.

That is great! I just hope you know what kind of work that is. Please, don't get me wrong, I don't want to talk you out of it!!!
I just want to make sure you know that there is some kind of workload to handle.
The Members must be held appart (that is where i would give up); their payment, which goes to you in the first place and the on to the dice-workshop; their adress for shipping everything back...

As said, i just want to make sure the task ahead is clear. I have seen what HIveTrygon on WS did and nobody envied him, but was eternal gratefull...


So, if this is all clear, the broad membership should be take part and decide what design/dice-size/colour...
