| The following sources have incredibly cheap miniatures:
Prepainted plastic minis from Confrontation (I like Wulfen) WHFB Rat Ogres (you can still get them on ebay pretty frequently) WHFB Crypt Horrors (they might still sell these, otherwise on ebay) WHFB Ogres (any kind) Old Dreamblade minis (available on Miniature Market and other resale sites like Troll and Toad)
All of these are pretty easy to convert: get some spare masks from the Talos/Wrack kits, put them on, then spruce them up with some spare wrack gubbins, or wrack looking gubbins, and give them a pale/sickly paintjob, and Bob's your uncle.
(I have over 20 Grotesques, precisely one of which I paid GW retail for...)

- General consensus is that Grots are better with transports then wwp.
Not gonna lie though for my first game i will most likely still be using wwp in my first game as i love the idea. The advantage of running these guys in wwp would be that you can have massive units of them. "it will not die" works on them which makes a large unit so much harder to kill than two separate. to break one stick is easy. To break two sticks is harder.I did a battle report where six grots stood ground against Blood Angels and have used them on veteran players: they do their job.

Agreed. except that you can't do that. one squad can't be split between two transports.

| You absolutely can, since the Grotesquerie is a formation, not a unit. Specifically, a formation composed of two units of grotesques, each of which can take a Raider. (Plus the haemmy to boss 'em around.) | |

That part yes. What I mean is that each of the units of grotesques can be in a raider. one unit of grots can't be spread across 2 raiders. i.e. one unit of 10 grots can't be in 2 raiders. Unless i misunderstood and you guys meant taking 2 grotesqueries. Then you're right.

Unless i misunderstood and you guys meant taking 2 grotesqueries. Then you're right. Highlighted the pertinent part from my original statement that you responded to. I didn't just mean it. I said it.
