| So today my fellow Commorragh kin I FINALLY bought my first member of our ilusterious kind, after being on this site for months...from a little webway outpost in my own little port of Liverpool. Now, I was thinking of buying some Kabalite Warriors or Wyches...but didn't have enough to buy them Not wanting to be left out of the murderous fun anymore I went to look at all 3 of our 'normal' hq choices (Dark Eldar normal...perish the thought ) and after musing on them, and considering I wanted to stick to the army list I posted (and idea I had in order to build up from low point games and up) I bought myself the Haemonculus as he is awesomely cool, love the fluff and who doesn't love a crazied psychotic doctor mixed with childish glee who wants to play with his toys So I ask you fellow kinsman (and women if there are any) what model was your first taste to Dark Eldar... "This is only the beginning" a mysterious voice hissed as an unfortunate soul found himself overtaken in pain as a tool was raised...Modded - spelling. Gob. | |

| Wracks, If you love the Haemie, then you will need to give him some toys to play with. And with the Haemie, the Wracks are a Troop choice. | |

| Raider. I wanted to *cough* "have" more but decided to make full-custom army. Still think GW made good job with that one, with few minor things that just don't work well for full-plastic minis (etched brass deck would be cool ). [edit] Oh, I totally forgot about box of old warriors. Funny, painting them took me shorter than recieving them via mail. Dipping FTW!

| Their will be lots of toys for the Haemie eventually, but he's mostly gonna be *ahem* 'assisting' a squad of Wyches, who won't be too happy with the arrangement as he gets to play with there bodies in exchange for their drugs and 'other' benefits...
If they want to do anything about it, the Haemonculus needs to practice his techniques on some live subjects...and they will not like their new bodys...

| My first DE models were the Warriors from the old 3rd edition starter (which was probably the most unbalanced starter they've ever made)
20 DE w. 2 S.Cannons (remember, nothing was poison then, so this was two squads of lasrifles with an Assault 4 AP 5 Str 4 support gun.
vs.
A squad of Marines with Sarge, a flamer, and a missile launcher, and...wait for it...a Landspeeder.
So, basically the Marines sat back lobbing missiles at the DE as they desperately scrambled forward, then ran up with a Landspeeder and flamed one squad to insta death, and if the DE player was *lucky* he managed to glance that sucker to death before it ate his other squad. Then the shattered remains would limp towards the Marines till they got tired of bro-fisting each other and ambled up to rapid fire and flame the remainder to death.

| I preordered the archon incubi and a warrior squad along with the codex at launch so that was my first taste of the new stuff. However I already had a 1500 pt force of the old models which i am slowly phasing out. | |

You also got jungle trees. Yep... those were my first Dark Kin, too. In those days, I served GW as an Outrider in Canada, and had to demo games using that boxed set. For some odd reason the kids LOVED Space Marines and loathed the Dark Eldar... always felt sorry for the DE, as they were there to made the Marines look good. First metal DE model I bought? The female Dracon, who actually served as my Archon. Soon followed by a unit of Incubi as her Shadowfield kept shorting out when snezzed on...

| Yeah, I meant to start in a sober fashion but ended up buying a Succubus, two Raiders, two boxes of Warriors and a box of Wyches for my first purchase. Dammit, I'd been waiting for Dark Eldar to be rereleased for so long! I deserved those models!

You also got jungle trees. Hate to show my age, but me too. Sad thing-after living with how awful models were in through the 90's they actually looked awesome at the time From the recent stuff my first models were a box of the new warriors, wyches, and wait for it.....Mandrakes. I really liked the new models and convinced myself that I could "make them work" after reading the rules Yes-you will love wracks.

| A Razorwing Jetfighter. I mean come on just look at it. Its a big flying machine of death from above. If you play Dark Eldar you got to love it. Before I started playing Dark Eldar, when I saw the Jetfighter, I was like "I have to have one of those, they are just so cool." I now have two planning on getting a third to convert to a Voidraven. | |

Best thing from the box as far as I was concerned. Good times. That Battleforce were also my first ever DE models, closely followed by a couple of Reaver jetbikes as I just -had- to have a Chopper Archon. Of this set, I first picked up the Battleforce and an extra Raider.

Best thing from the box as far as I was concerned. Good times. I was a fan of those ruins...I've got some trees to trade for ruins if'n you're interested New models...new models...It was either a Raider or some Warriors...frankly I think i got both at the same time...maybe a box of Wyches too...yeah, probably all three. Then I bought 6 Venoms, 3 Razorwings, a box of Hellions, an Archon, a Succubus, and a Razorwing Flock. ...I need help.

| lol Thor, you sound like my boyfriend who within the last month spent...about £320 on Warhammer & 40k related models, which included: * Space Hulk * Dreadfleet * Ogre Battleton * Slaughtermaster * Brusier * Iron Blaster * Sabertusks * 40k Pocket rule book
And he still needs to get the Orks half of Assault on Black Reach with a friend of ours sometime soon as well.....Part Magpie much xD
Also, Wracks will probably be bought when I next go to my local GW where they will be Kabalites/Wyches and a box of Wracks being bought, need to do some test schemes...yellow or pink? c:p

| First ever were the Warriors that came with 3rd Edition. I no longer have them or the metal Sybarite with the claw. God, those were bad minis compared to what we have now...
This time I started with an Archon, a Venom (to be his personal transport), a squad of Warriors and one of Wyches.

| I got the metal Archon with the flayed skin stolen face from third edition. A very cool model, though strangely fat and short for a Dark Eldar! I got some Warriors from that edition too, but strangely I'm not sure how... I didn't go into the store, so presumably a friend sold me theirs from the starter set. Then I got some Incubi. I know the old Incubi figures get some love, but I can't imagine why, they don't compare to the new ones, even if their Klaives are all stupidly bendy. I also had Drazhar, it was such a balanced army...
This edition it was an Archon (who I still think is too short and stocky) and a box of Warriors. I bought the Warriors so I could have a legal army, then gave them a Shredder and a Dark Lance so they couldn't be two troops choices, so I had to buy more troops. Bring on the Wyches. They kill big nasties, every game, I was only going to get a few, now there will be MANY.

| Bought the OOP units I got from my cousin, so got 1500pts for about nothing at the time.
The first things I bought when the new codex was released... hmm: 2 Ravangers, 3 Raiders, 20 Warriors, 10 Wyches, 1 Archon, 6 Reavers, 5 Incubis.

| Hmm, first Dark Eldar purchase.... Originally was bought the 3rd Ed starter box, and then bought extra DE from a friend of mine who got the box set but didn't want the DE. (Well his older brother, who had the complete Ultra Marines 4th Company). I think after that it was the female Archon/Dracon, who still serves as my lord now. As for the new Dark Eldar, I think my first purchase was the new Hellions. Always loved these guys and the new models were too cool to pass up. Now I just need another box or two for conversions and get a bigger squad. | |

| My first models was Scourges, because I found those some of GW:s best models ever. Those where in fact also what made me start play DE overall. After that I started buying more essential stuff... | |
