Feedback on my armylist please

I have bought the start collectingbox and I'm planning to expand it to a 1000 pt force the coming months. I would be grateful if you guys and gals could give some feedback on my planned list. Minis are expensive and I dont want to make any dumb
purchases...
Heres the list;
Archon
10 Kabalite Warriors
• Raider: dark lance
10 Kabalite Warriors
• Raider: dark lance
10 Kabalite Warriors
• Raider: dark lance
3 Mandrakes
3 Reavers: 3× heat lance
3 Reavers: 3× heat lance
3 Reavers: 3× heat lance
Ravager: 3× dark lance
Ravager: 3× dark lance

The starter set is a good way to start a Dark Eldar army, and the formation it includes isnt half bad when optimized.

I think a couple starter sets are a solid purchase. Three may be pushing it too far. I dont think you'll need 30 warriors any time soon, archons are not really viable outside of the formation and 2 raiders are enough to transport assault troops such as grotesques later on. Venoms are also a great purchase as they are our most cost/efficient unit.

Keep in mind that no starter list wil be amazing, specially if you're also new to 40k, so instead of posting the best 1k point list I can come up with, Ill tell you that Venoms, Reaver jetbikes, Ravagers, Talos and Grotesques (and thus Raiders) are the most commonly used Dark Eldar units. You cant go wrong purchasing those. Try to learn what playstyle suits you, what units do you enjoy playing and give you better results and from there build your army as you see fit.

List looks pretty solid for a starter army. Not sure if this ^^ is a typo or a misunderstanding but you can only take 1 heat lance per 3 Reavers.

Thank you! I'm not completely new to 40k, just old . Its almost 20 years since my last game... So these newfangled rules about AP and whatnot confuses me..
I have corrected my list, 1 heatlance per Reaver. Which gives me some more points to spend. I can either get a Venom for those points. Another unit on the table is always good, right?
Or I could get 2 more mandrakes and enhanced aether sails for my Raiders (which is good for my wallet since I must buy five mandrakes anyhow).

I would definitely consider some Venoms as they are one of the best units available to us. Personally I'd split one of the 10-man Warrior squads into 2 x 5-man and drop their Raider, giving both squads Venoms instead.

Scourges are also useful for anti-tank if equipped with haywire blasters or heat lances.

Hmmmm dont really like the look of the scourges so they're out. But you all seem to agree upon the venom so here goes the list again;

The Raiders got their enhanced aethersails just so I could satisfy my OCD, the list should be exactly 1000 points

I make that 1020 points

Dark lances on kabbies in boats are also generally regarded as a poor option as if you move the vessel at all they fire snap shots.

I assumed the lance was on the Raider, not the Warriors.

Then I'm having trouble finding your 20pts over as well.

BTW IF OP is right and it is 1000 on the dot I'd still scrap the dark lances and aethersails and spend the 20 pts I just acquired to take the second splinter cannon on each venom.

I think you just found my 20 points as I just assume that all Venoms have the extra cannon

The dark lances are on the Raiders. I use the quartermaster-app to do my lists and I did a quick doublecheck in the codex, the pointvalues seem to be correct.

Why the extra cannon on the Venom?

2 x Cannon is the standard loadout because are basically doubling the firepower of a 55 point vehicle for 10 points, so it's a pretty easy choice. Honestly, in my mind, Venoms cost 65 points. There isn't even an option for the 55 point version

So this would be the new list;
