| Hey! Brand new to Dark Eldar, as I've decided to play something no-one else locally seems to play them and well, I kinda like being a special snowflake. Also, DE looks cool as hell.
My aim is to build this army over time, but figured I'd start at roughly 750 points, and I'd appreciate any feedback on this from people with more experience than me.
So, without any further ado:
Realspace Raider Detachment
HQ -Succubus (Agoniser, Splinter Pistol, Armour of Misery)
Elites -Incubi x 4 Dedicated Transport: Venom (Splinter Cannon Upgrade)
Troops -Kabalite Warriors x 10, w Splinter Cannon Dedicated Transport: Raider w Disintegrator Cannon, Night Shields
-Kabalite Warriors x 5, w Blaster Dedicated Transport: Venom (Splinter Cannon Upgrade)
-Kabalite Warriors x 5, w Blaster Dedicated Transport: Venom (Splinter Cannon Upgrade)
Fast Attack Reavers x 3, w 1 x Cluster Caltrops, 1 x Heat Lance
This should put me at 738 points according to Battlescribe, so a few points to spare. Looking to expand the list over time, so I'll probably add a Ravager or two eventually, but for now I'd appreciate any opinions on what I have so far. Thanks in advance!

| In general, I think this is a very solid start. Many people will probably argue about the choice of wargear like Blasters (expensive and only mediocre range) and the Agoniser (Archite Glaive is much more preferred), but if you find that working out for you, then so be it.
However, I'd upgrade the Raider with a Dark Lance. The Disintegrator Cannons are awesome weapons against TEQ in my opinion, but at some point you will probably want as muchu Darklight as you can get (and/or other sources of anti-tank weapons for that matter). The Dark Lance also has the advantage of causing instant death on T4 models and against multi-wounded models or FNP marines and from my experience this can make the Lance almost as efficient as the Disintegrator Cannon in some cases.
I also like my Incubi, but you should not rely on them too much. You can't use them as a beatstick and need to use them more like a scalpel against specific units. I found them working out okay if you just make a 3 man squad with a Klaivex. You are not investing too many points and if they finally get into combat, they can dish out a lot of hits. The Klaivex is among the few character upgrades in our codex I find actually worth purchasing.
However, before you buy a Ravager I'd go for the current all-star in the DE meta that are the Grotesques. Probably also within a Grotesquerie formation (from the Coven supplement) once you get enough models (the preferred way of aquiring grotesques is via conversion btw.).
Apart from that, you will probably also want more Venoms (you can never have enough of them).
There are also other good units that can be fun playing around with like the Scourges, Taloi and Razorwing Jetfighters and if you find yourself having success with Reavers, you probably want to have more of them as well.

| Looks like a great place to start.
However, you should be going Combined Arms Detatchment (CAD) rather than the RSR. This is because your 3 troops (and their transprots) will be Objective Secured. You only go RSR when you need to use 6 FA slots and cant pay the points to do dual CAD.
If you go CAD, you have 3 (splits into 6) ObSec units to grab stuff. You have 2 decent CC threats with the Reavers and the Incubi/Succi (who I assume will be in the same transport).
Just know that your Incubi/Succi is the largest concentration of points in your army, and its hiding behind AV10 2HP. Use it as a distraction or reserve it to be used as a threat later. If you run right at the enemy with that unit, it will be drawing the fire of everything the enemy has got.
As for DL on raiders, I generally dont like it. 3 Lance ravagers generally miss, single lance raiders are a real hail mary.

| Thanks for the feedback! I'll probably build a CAD instead. I'll also take a look at the Incubi squad, maybe drop one of them as I realized I forgot to take the Splinter Racks on the Raider. Thanks for the pointers, you've also given me some ideas on what to expand the army with. | |

| I would drop the splinter cannon on the kabalites. Correct me if I'm wrong but you'll only get 4 shots any turn you move because it's salvo. You could use those points for splinter racks.
I'd also stick with dissy cannon

| So, here's an update after a long long time. I've recently had my first games after painting up a 750p list. I switched out the kabalites in the raider for a talos and a few upgrades here and there and won my first and so far only two games with DE. I realize that adding upgrades isn't the greatest way to hit a point limit, so I'll continue to revise my list as I expand the army. Currently I'm aiming to put the 10 kabalites with their raider back in to the list along with another three man reaver squad to get me to 1000 points.
After that... well maybe a Ravager and a Razorwing. I think I still suffer from a "oo, shiny new model"-syndrome. I've been considering adding a War Walker Squadron (taken as an Uhltwe Strike Force) as well as it seems a reasonably cheap way to put deep striking AT into the list, but for the moment I'm quite content with going pure DE.
