| I took 4th at my first ITC event, an RTT at a local store. My first game I drew the 3rd ranked ITC (Dark Eldar player) player in the world and although he was playing the new Deathguard he knew my army better than me. He out played me every step of the way and beat me 10-1. I made a slew of tactical mistakes and hung it tough, but with his whole army being Obsec, I never stood a chance.
I still wound up 4th overall and the reavers were the allstar of my list. Had a ton of fun, looking forward to learning how to play DE better going forward. They are very unforgiving of making mistakes. Definately playing the game on hard mode.

| Nice job. I know what you mean about getting stuck against the toughest guy at the tourney though, I have a bad run of always getting the guy who wins the events the first round. Still, you learn the most from the ones you lose. | |

| This belongs in realspace raids more than tactica. Maybe a mod can move it? Well played, @mattblowers. I told you reavers were amazing. Good luck at the next one! | |

| Thats some solid ranking while using one of the most underpowered codexes (codeci?) in the game. | |

| Took second in my last tournament though this one wasn't ITC, just a straight from the rulebook RTT and 1/3 of your list had to be troops. I barely missed out on 1st. I was undefeated but I lost out on points. I tabled my opponent on round 3 and couldn't earn any more malestrom points. I had a blaster in every unit and didn't a single tank or transport all day. They are still pretty decent against hard to wound big guys but I still think I'd prefer more poison shots. | |

| Nicely done do you think if you'd tactically kept one of your opponent's squads alive and raked in the maelstrom points you'd have come 1st? | |

That's a good question. I seized and took out his flyrants and FMCs at the start. Then my dice got hot and I was getting 6-8 wounds per venom in turns 2 and 3. I'm used to ITC where you get max points for tabling your opponent. I've had more than my share of games go sideways when I let up to try and prolong the game. My default now is to finish my opponent if I get the chance. If I lose on points it's out of my control. I might have done something different if given the chance to redo, but at the same time it can be disheartening to be the opponent and have the enemy toying with you when they can just wipe you out and put the end to the misery. | |

| Yeah that seems sensible. The ITC ruling for max points for a tabling do make a lot of sense there. | |
