Well, we do have Eldar Jetbikes as wargear after all, not Dark Eldar Jetbikes. But yes, one could wish that this was tehe case Smile

Its still Eldar FAQ. Harlequins FAQ is invalid for us too, so... :-)
I dont really care, I never tried to make assault move after CC, so no difference, but I do not like when someone picks and chooses which rules apply cross-dex and which dont just because. :-)

Yep, despite the fact that OUR jetbikes don't give us any armour save, while ACTUAL eldar jetbikes confer a 3+ armour save to the rider.

To be clear Von Snabel, he's saying they're 4 points more for a unit of 3, not 4 points more per model(and it's actually only 3 more per unit). Theirs are 17 points per model. Ours are 16 points per model.

I'd pay the extra point for a 3+ armour save, personally. Unfortunately, not an option for us.

But would you lose an extra point of Initiative, Combat drugs, and an extra Attack AND pay an extra point to upgrade your 5+ to a 3+? Maybe not as convincing then. But wait, they're TROOPS choices you say!? I think it makes a lot of sense that Dark Eldar have shooty Kabalite bikes with better armor as Troop choices, and Leave the assault weapons for Reavers in Fast Attack. I would reduce Reavers by a point but remove their options for Blasters and Heat Lances, and offer Kabalite Jetbikers as a Troops choice. Kabalite Jetbikers would have options for Blasters and Heat Lances but not Caltrops and Grav talons. Both bike variants would be able to take one of their respective options per bike just like Craftworlders. How about 3 Reavers with Caltrops? How about 4+ armor save Kabalite bikers all armed with Heat lances or Splinter Cannons? Is that really asking for too much? Would that be OP? Doesn't seem so to me given the competition.

TL;DR Dark Eldar should have Jetbike infantry.

While that would be nice, I think Hellions would be better suited for this role given their background fluff as mere "gangs". It would actually give them a purpose too.

Just my 50 cents.

Isnt that technically an Eldar FAQ? :-) Not Dark Eldar... If a ruling on FB about another army does not apply to us, why should FAQ?

Well it's now made it into the official, non-draft, FAQ and it's a question about Eldar Jetbikes, which are exactly what Reavers are equipped with. So, despite being in the Eldar, rather than Dark Eldar, FAQ, I think it would be churlish to ignore it and I certainly wouldn't be happy with an opponent who tried to do so.

Yeah. The rule in question isn't in the Eldar codex, it's in the BRB. So there's no reason the ruling wouldn't apply to Harlequin, Corsair, or Dark Eldar jetbikes as well.

Its funny that 'street hooligan' hellions tend to be much better armed with their personal flying device, double-gun, glaive, plus combat drugs, compared to 'made man' kabalites that are the cheapest thing to field with a basic rifle and imperial-guard-cannon-fodder levels of gear access.

What about an agaonizer on an arena champion? I know it's a lot of points, (but now that I'm seeing the tactic of putting cluster caltrops on the champ for D6 HoW it does ease it a bit) but it makes them still be a threat in CC that most things won't want to tangle with. Even a MC can be taken out with this build out. For the record, I take units of 6. I have a knack for failing leadership challenges when one gets destroyed and 6 really helps make the unit more survivable. I also like the 2D6 HoW hits at S:6 to help level out the low roll of a single dice. I'm always going for anything that helps to ease dice randomness. I heard Lawrence champion units of 6 on the IC podcast and helped me to change to 6 and I haven't gone back. Any reason why you all run units of 3 other than MSU?

2 units of 3 are as expensive as a unit of 6 but more flexible I'd guess.

I don't like the agonizer here because the gains are bad for what I'm spending, and the necessity of additional ap3 is heavily muted by the unit-wide rending on the HoW attacks, and the loadouts my attached IC's always have. That also ties in to why I take 3 body squads if I have the slots. I almost always take either, or both: a jetbike autarch with banshee mask, laser lance, and fusion gun; a jetbike prince with the shard of anaris, shadowfield, and divination. By breaking my unit of 6 into 2 units of 3 I can split or combine my IC's as gameplay dictates. Fast attack slots are precious tho since I take scourges for anti-vehicle so I often just take 1 squad, in that case it's almost always 6 bodies.
