We don't know how many Dark Eldar units will Join the Ynnari

If I wanted to run Dark Eldar in a different faction with different rules I'd play Corsairs. Pass.

You just put 2+2 together and got 5. Beyond the terribly janky screenshots we got of those two formations we have no idea what this book will cover rules wise, though the focus being the new Ynnari faction would seem obvious.

I don't see why they would include any new material for the 3 existing factions while simultaneously trying to push their players into an entirely new one.

Because it's not really completely new? I see it as more of a...alternative loadout(?) if that makes sense, of old units from the various codices. Like in an FPS.

It almost certainly won't satisfy that solo-codex so many of us seek a scratch to; however, this will not stop me from enjoying the new fluff. I was never interested in winning 40k, let alone being competitive. I knew that wasn't going to be on the menu from the moment I read the 7e codex.

That's what the Corsairs are, and they do it with more panache. Corsairs are wonderful, even if I don't play them. They're EVE Online mixed with Pirates of the Caribbean in all the best ways. Ynnead sounds like a combination of the Blood Elf paladin storyline from the Burning Crusade mixed with a bunch of excuses to run models with low sales performance without actually updating the individual codexes.

My favorite games were almost all ones I didn't win, but they were darned close, and I like games that are darned close. They're the ones you tell stories about. You have to be competitive though to have darned close games, and DE don't really have competitive lists.

I was a bit more cynical in my take on that. I assume that they will remain the world champions at dying horrifically but that their deaths will actually serve a purpose by buffing the other surviving units around them, probably Craftworlders. GW's design philosophy for DE in a nutshell.

Oh for sure. Since I understand that a "unit" has to be destroyed I assume that the wyches needs to be wiped to a man for the buff to trigger. So the buffs probably won't be benefiting them that much. Unless they come back somehow...
I just wonder how many "soul tithe" points Ynnead Demon Kin needs to summon a bloodthirster. Even the color scheme seems kinda familiar...

The word fielding really makes it sounds like, being there(and eventually dying) is all that you need them to be... then our main and new character can buff the unit that is already good,like CWE...

Wow, I have become one of the nay sayers... we will wait and see how that rule actually plays out.
Actually if it makes playing a Wych Cult list viable again then I would be all for it.

The rules, relics and detachment may even favor DE more than CWE.

True, The one formation looks like Incubi, Wyches, and Dire Avengers. If that is true and the rules are good I will be more then glad to pick up a squad of dire avengers and maybe even a Wave Serpent to give them a ride.

I can't wait to see the new formations etc. I just hope I can keep my wych/banshee list together. Mainly to keep the armies fluff the same.
