| Recently I started painting the first of several Venoms I have, and was thinking of organizing them somehow, with symbols or numbers. In the Harlequin Codex, certain numbering elements are mentioned but I haven't found anything for Dark Eldar.
While I know that Kabals obviously don't work like an Imperial army with everything highly organized, all the precise coordination a DE raid has does require some coherency/structure. Therefore, I wanted to give my units certain organisatory traits that are reflected in the color scheme, for example: For every 10 Kabalites, one of them has a different-colored helmet, as do vehicle captains.
On vehicles, I'd like to add numbers. Does anyone know of any Dark Eldar/Eldar numerical system I could use for this?

| The Harlequin system would work, no?
I know that my Venoms are distinguished by the colour of the bulbs/gems on them. They match the colour of their corresponding unit's left shoulder pad.

| I'd like to add a pattern on the vehicles and mimic it on the squad inside. But I don't have time for that unfortunately...

| As an alternative to figuring out the numbers, you could just incorporate diamonds, hashmarks, or whatever you choose into your Kabal insignia to signify their squad number. Alternatively, you could sort of incorporate bars and rockers sort of like the military uses in your existing kabal insignia. I whipped up a couple examples of what I mean. Excuse the poor artwork(except the tribal insignia that I grabbed off google - not my work): Doing something like that has the simultaneous advantages of being less research-intensive, and more discernible to your opponents. It would be cool to see whatever you come up with when you're done, whatever you decide! | |

| I've seen it some places where the Daedric Alphabet from The Elder Scrolls (Or i guess The Eldar Scrolls in this context) has been used. Pointy and intimidating, it looks the part fairly well. | |

Maybe a combination of Daedric symbols and diamonds/bars would do nicely to differentiate squads and then the units within the squads too.

http://eldar.arhicks.co.uk/miscellaneous/eldar_runes.php Indeed I thought about something like this, thanks for the link! I'll definitely keep this bookmarked, if not for my Dark Eldar then for later, I plan on venturing into the Eldar ranks because the models are great, Wraithknights are cool and I want to run Ynnari too.

Easy pattern http://www.fallouthobbies.com/store These are great! I don't own an airbrush yet, but I'll keep this page saved somewhere. The hexes/skin patterns could really come in handy for some vehicles in the future.

I did indeed think about using that, or modifying it slightly, but I'm really looking for something entirely different, coz 1. I also have Harlequins and 2. I really want something as Drukhari-y/Dark Eldary as possible

| The 7th edition codex collector's edition had objective markers, where the numbers of slashes on the marker are the number. | |

Thank you, this is a really cool idea. And who wouldn't love a little Elder Scrolls reference on your models?
