Megaforce set available for holidays

I know that B&M shops have a limit to 3 (yes, three) units they can max order per week.

So that means that when I wanted to buy 5 venoms... I had to wait for 2 weeks...and that's assuming nobody else wants one...

GW is putting more and more pressure on the guys that retail for them, put in nice tables bla bla bla...

They're in for the kill in max (IMO) 18-24 months. I wouldn't be surprised that you actually couldn't buy from anywhere online and very little in the B&M if any.

And... with what face do you go and take up table space if they don't sell GW stuff?

Yeah it's absurd what GW are doing to independent stores, I suppose it would be ok if their prices were reasonable but they are not compared to other wargaming companies. I just hope that 6th Ed doesn't been I have to get anymore units as I intend to keep what i'm getting now for some time.

Actually, one of the main reasons I go for extreme builds (Pure Deathwing, Pure Ravenwing, Doublewing, double WWP)...is that way, I train myself to "harsh" scenarios so when I build an actually balanced list, you know where it hurts most at the opponent.

Having around 3-3.5k points of DE, the 6th edition ought to be VERY VERY different to not be able to build a 2k list

That being said...maybe its time to put in practice the "nobody forces you to change editions".

This is a case of Gw being damned if they do and damned if they don't.

There is roughly £185 in the DE box, so its still saving 55 quid.

and from an online retailer you have to pay postage, GW postage is free.
so mine cos 108, only a difference of 22 direct from GW with postage included.

I also ordered a load of other stuff which overall saved me £80 from GW prices for £8 delivery so £72 is a huge saving for me.

should have ordered it earlier then, especiaslly when darksphere took theres down.

GW prices are high, but moaning in a thread where they are selling a 1000 pt army for £130 is a bit silly.

I think Maelstrom are the only indie left with some discounted Megaforces in stock; I've only checked the more well known ones though.

I am so tempted to pick one of these up, but i have already have a stack of Dark Eldar up to the top of my coffee table that needs to be done, and i refuse to put them away until built and painted! .. .and i paint at a snail's pace to errrr ... get value for money (that's what i like to tell myself!) and if i pick up a mega force i think my long suffering other half will actually turn into Lelith and start getting creative with the kitchen ware.

GW prices are obscene, anyone ever used to make Airfix models when they were younger? They were like £7 for the equivalent of a raider model, absolutely ridiculous

Unfortunately, Maelstrom have stopped taking in orders for the Megaforce atm (and searching for it shows no results) due to the high demand for the Megaforces and issues with GW. The boyfriend had to call them up and was informed that they'd be only able to order some per week, so they are doing first come first serve. Our order, thankfully we've been told is processing but since we ordered late were going to likely be one of the last orders they'll take on it for a while...

I just bit the bullet and ordered from GW. Might be a bit more expensive but at least it should be here by the start of next week.

I used to use MAelstrom all the time but recently I have found their delivery times getting longer, around 3 weeks the last time I used them. One of my mates has been waiting since the beginning of November for parts of his last order.
I have noticed that they have less items available right away than they used to. Seems like they are ordering items from GW as they get the order in. Guess it saves them having to hold stock and therefore reduces their costs, or perhaps GW are just squeezing them a bit more.

I live in AUS and I was wondering if I could order one of these from any site online, (due to GW prices being so high here) I tried ebay but they have no listings at time of post, and all of the independent stockists I've been to so far either dont post to AUS or have prices that are barely cheaper than GW.

Since the embargo, you'd have to find someone in the Euro zone who could take delivery of the item for you, then post it to you (which could cost a bit).

Picked mine up for about £115 from our FLGS, 4TK Gaming, on Saturday. They had an awesome set of deals on as well, so I picked up a box of old-school Dark Eldar Warriors for a fiver.

I haven't opened mine yet though. The Venom is the only sprue I haven't seen and I still have six Reavers, five Scourges, a Razorwing and a Talos to paint.

Brilliant base for a Deldar force though. I'm turning the Warriors into Trueborn, ten of the Wyches into Bloodbrides and hopefully wrangling a couple of extra Wyches or a kitbashed Special Character out of the Venom passengers.

My wallet might never want to speak to me again, but my Bitz Box just proposed! We'll have a wonderful wedding in the spires of Comorragh, with a Splintermind-laced cake!
