FAQ - Understrength Units

I see it more of I can take Incubi of 4 with an Archon or others like The Visarch/Drazhar. Or 4 Wracks and a Haemonculus, inside Venoms with 1 Splinter Cannons so i can have a really cheap HQ/Melee delivery system.

Sense Venoms are 5man (Unlike Starweaver FFS I HATE VENOMS), we could save 25-40pts easily now.

So... Is this an option?

Taking a unit of 3 Bloodbrides and one Syren. Give them 3 Hydra Gauntlets an Agoniser, Blast Pistol, PGL... and 3 sets of Hydra Gauntlets. Put them in a Venom with your Succubus of choice. "I'd be running it as a unit of10, but I don't have the models."

For maximum trolling, have several other units of 10 Wyches appear elsewhere in the list.



TheMetaShifting TeenageAngst had a really cool idea, too. Do Aeldari have enough units to grab a virtually-no-cost 3CP with the largest detachment? And then make a second of the same detachment that is Ynnari?

After this, place any real units that you want in their own, separate detachments with single Warlocks as HQ for cheapness.

Everything that you want to be Ynnari goes in the big Ynnari detachment, everything else goes elsewhere.

SFD is insanely easy to trigger by charging lone models into combats they have precisely 0 chance of winning, prompting a second round of Reaper Missiles or Dark Lances to wipe something else out.

Fun.

I use Kymerae's in my Ynnari for that reason.

The Under Strength rule is mean to let someone play a unit they normally cant due to lack of models, it even has 2-3 sentences explaining that.

I'm 100% sure tournaments wont allow them and many players wont play with it, but the rules state you can play 1 Under Strength unit so it is part of the restrictions and we will see some players doing it.

I most likely will a few times but not to power play, just to fit an HQ in a venom lol.

I'd have to say no. You get the extra weapons if the unit numbers 10 or more models. It doesn't.

I agree with this.

By RAW I agree, I spent a while trying to resound the wording to get it right, but can't get it to a state where this is legit. TBH, if the limitations were tighter, or they cost points anyway I don't think we'd be having these discussions, but I do like it for our army due to the fact it allows our historical body guard unit to do its job!

Incubi and Trueborn I can see this as benefiting, as you can ditch one to fit an HQ into a Venom with them (5 Blasters in a Venom). I suppose you could also do Succubus, Hekatrix, Hydra Gauntlets and 2 normal Wyches if you were desperate to squeeze them into a Venom but I'm not sure that's a particularly worthwhile exercise.
