Hey guys, currently working on a 2k Tournie list. Lemme know what you think, where I can perhaps better tweek things.

I would think that raiders would be better for the wyches since they will add more dark lances. You can shave off points by chucking NS's (doubt they would be useful when your deep-striking within assault range for your wyches) You also must have Flickerfields on your raiders!

Here is my suggestion list

Asdrubael Vect
Duke Sliscus

4x Trueborn 4x Blasters Venom w/ Splinter Cannon
9x Trueborn 7x Shardcarbine, 2x Splinter Cannon Raider w/ FF splinter Racks

4 Unit's of
6x Wychs Haywire Gernades 1x Razorflails

6x Reaver Jetbikes 2x heatlances

2x Ravagers w/FF
Razorwing w/FF splinter cannon


Vect stays hidden while attempting to get your first turn (you can chuck him out if you don't want him, Helps with CC and first turn) with the wyches while the Duke travels with the Raiderborn.
Everything Deepstrikes while your opponent panics.

just my suggestion. You are gonna have to let me know how you do (if you use the duke) since I am thinking about running a Duke Deep strike list depending on the necrons.

I just find Venoms easier to hide than Raiders.......also, don't need FF on the Wych Raider as I Turbo-boost them for the slightly better save. Turn 2 they are usually out and getting into it.


I could drop NS, but sometimes they are a godsend, usually against Deepstriking Melta Blood Angles or even vs Psycannons......I'll have play a few games with and without to compare

I have been tossing up the idea on a bigger Splinter-Born unit for the Duke. I ran it 2 weeks ago, brought a Dreadknight down to 1 wound in the first shooting phase Very Happy

It depends on how you play it. Personally I would keep everything in Reserves denying a whole turn of shooting. Then Turn 2 you deepstrike choosing the area you want to hit. not sure on NS I don't use them and I remember a whole debacle on them or something like that.

I'm not confident at all in Deepstriking Vehicles......they are still rolled on for too so stuff's not coming on in Turn 2 - in addition to that, your Blaster TB can't fire either, coz if you enter via Deepstrike you have traveled at Crusing Speed, please correct me if I'm wrong here though


I don't like reserving an entire force, but if I have 4- or 5 Guard Tanks, half a dozen Railguns or 3 Psyfle Dreads all pointing in my face, and I'm not going first......then I'll reserve, and take it as it comes.


How succesful have you been with your Deepstriking before? There are more scatters than direct hits on the scatter dice......your against the odds IMO

I haven't tried deep-striking an army yet but I got the idea from BOLS specifically this battle rep.

I will be trying out a 1500pt but same strategy

Seemed interesting enough to try out. I play WWP and the last time I have played had 4 units arrive Turn 2 and assaulting.

No you are correct (as far as I can tell) The TB can't shoot but all the raiders will be able to fire one weapon when they show up so the raiders and ravagers have something.

It's a risky tactic that ether can go horribly wrong or freak en awesomely perfectly right.

Gosh I'm worried about going 2nd vs some armies and assessing the damage let alone risking the deepstrike hehehe - each to their own I guess.


What u think about the MSU Wyches build. Its not normally seen, I know, and thats part of the reason for posting this list up. I have had 2 games at 1250 with 2 small Wych squads and have really liked how they performed....

They can actually do so much more than what most people think.......esp, grenading an imobilised tank, and positioning the Wyches on the far side to prevent any assaults or return fire.......

Hey.

Ive used some msu wych units with pretty ok successrate. I have tried them both coming from a WWP and from within a vehicle and i would have to say that both work but they are fragile. Often a larger number is just to cheap to not take, however it seems like many venom spam lists include a couple of 5 men strong ones and they do wonders.

I would say you should try it out, i know i'l give them a few more tries before desciding what i think about them.

Offensive Output:
Dark Lances = 8
Blasters = 8
Poisoned Shots = 26 (3+) and 78 (4+) totalling 104...
Haywire Grenades = 27
Agonisers = 5


I still have a few more models to buy however, but I think I'll begin playtesting (with a bit of Lego) in a week or 2

Let us know how how the list works out also how much do you plan to deep strike? I would definitely try deep striking everything just to see how games play out. I think the risk is worth the taking in my opinion; it also turns games into 4 or 5 turns.

Deep strike in and have the raiders pop vehicles. If in assault range disembark and assault.

You can't assault the turn you arrive Sad

But you could Deepstrike Trueborn in Venom - TB get rear armour shots, while the Venom thins out the crowd a bit.....

Hmm didn't really realize that. Figured they where able to since it's open topped. Hmm Kind of feels that the Duke isn't worth taking except for the poison bonus.

Well, thats one reason why I'm taking him....


Infact, I've just thought of this idea; another reason why I'm taking Duke is for the 2 d6 Drug roll......where the 2 drug results I would like, are either +1 Str or Reroll To Wound.....

So for me to best take advatntage of this would be to give the Hekatrix' a Venom Blade each - basically there is a 33% chance of the Venom blades having reroll To Wound

But then again, its still wounding on 2's - so maybe Ago is better....
