!!not official!! DE codex might be next

With DE primary armies, I had the best win rate ever in 7e with Dark Eldar. I don't think we were underpowered at all; we just weren't an easy army to master.

On the OP's reasoning, they are repackaging but mainly to take the dark eldar wording off the boxes and replace it with drukhari.

Edit:the 3rd ed codex in 4th was dominating. So fast and deadly. You could assault after moving from open topped raiders. And dark eldar warrior squad with two dark lances for 100 points. Best objective holders in the game!
I only lost a handful of games in that edition, and always due to my mistakes.

Only depressing because it was a 13 year old codex with 3 useable units...

I think there will be Nurgle next.
After that there might be Craftworld Eldar. Would be nice if they group us together because I don't think we would get new units Anyway. But I think we will be due next year.

We've seen how powerful the new Codexes are already. In the case that that the Eldar are released first. It'll make every Ynnari player play almost exclusively standard Eldar.

Hence, it would be preferred that GW releases everything all at once, maybe all in one codex?

Otherwise I think it's reasonable to expect Ynnari with a Eldar and Harlequins with Dark Eldar. I would hate if they made it 4, and it wouldn't make sense to put Ynnari and Harlies in the same book for 3.

I think CWE will definitely get a book before we do. It's possible that they'll combine us but it seems very unlikely.

Sad to say but I'm basically putting my faith in CWE getting some fun/interesting stuff for their HQs, so that I can use those instead of the DE ones.

I am curious about how they'll do Ynnari and Harlequins though. Harlequins really don't have enough models to justify a full codex, and Ynnari have just 3 models. Even combined they'd be stretching it.

I am really excited about a Dark Eldar codex. But I guess we pretty much all are.

I am hoping for maybe 1 or 2 new units + some re-done models (the Finecast stuff).
Maybe some new HQS that are not on foot?

But as for right now I tend to take Eldar HQs over the Dark Eldar ones to fill my HQ slot. Usually a Farseer and maybe warlock or Yvraine.

As for quins? Maybe a few new units? Like a mini Webway flyer? New infantry unit or two?

Supresess flashbacks of Imperial Knights, Sisters of Silence, Custodes, etc.

If Ynnari get their own book I'd expect them to get some sort of model release to go with it. Not really sure what they would give them though.

I'm willing to wait on a DE codex. I'm looking forward to getting stratagems and relic gear bit, I'm willing to wait it out and hopefully get a codex that isn't a rush job.

All the rumours I have seen mention nothing of eldar in 2017 - of any type. Tau, Nids, guard, crons, 1ksons and BA are the rest of the year from what I know

B.c they did in 7th and not just once but also with IA book and those 3 models.

Why would you think they would not? when they already clearly show they are willing to do just that.

My thoughts are that the eldar armies are going to be combined into a rebooted ynnari. Given the fluff progression, our complete lack of decent HQs and the death or removal of major characters from the scene it only makes sense.

If they do that it'll be a great way to lose any and all business.

There's relatively little chance, I'd think. While I'd love to see all Eldar under one codex: Ynnari, Craftworlders, Commorrites, and everything else; I don't think it's likely. If they did release a single Ynnari book in place of a Dark Eldar and Craftworld codex, it would leave a third of the Dark Eldar out in the cold, and I don't see that happening.

All the fluff they released in the rulebook from 2 months ago doesn't point towards that. It points to the Ynnari creating a schism within the eldar, both aeldari and drukhari, and having an additional reason for them to battle it out.

Also, from what they are doing with the Deathguard codex and other books, it seems they are happier than ever to produce codices for factions and sub factions.

I can see a similar campaign starting when all the Aeldari books come out like the Fate of Konor battles right now. Craftworld vs Ynnari vs Drukhari vs Harlequin. I'd play the hell out of that!

That would be a campaign I would most certainly play. But without a reason to shoehorn the Imperium into it, I doubt GW would commit to it

A 40k campaign without power armours involved? That's some major heresy!
Who would want to play it if you can't sell new power armours?

Not going to happen, the factions concerned only make up for a total of... 7% of W40k players ?
Even with SM vs CSM, they had to justify it with "even if you're not one of the factions concerned, this battle is important for you".
How are they going to appeal to SM players ? "Look, space nuns are fighting space junkies along with space clowns, free pop-corn for everybody ?".

Yes GW officially said those are next, it was an open statement at nova and then posted on their facebook page.

I wonder if any Ynnari or Harlequin stuff will be included.
