I second this. This always bothered me a lot.

This is something I have seen brought up a fair bit before. I added it to the end of their section.

Could we emphasize how weird it is that auras(aurae?) don't work from open topped Transports?
A.K.A. flying balconies?
I think it is hinted at in the letter but not explicitly mentioned...

They made it very clear no Auras in anytype of transports at all, even Builds/Bunkers they dont work.
No reason to even talk about it b.c its not a "DE" problem its the core rules.

Ok cool, thanks for clearing that up, still irks me though, as i have the feeling they just forgot open topped, oh well, probably time to leave the comfort zone then i guess xD

Yeah I understand but look at this from this PoV


Open top is extremely strong, when you vehicles can survive at times all game and your dudes inside are fully protected, it can be a game changer.


I swapped my SoB to all Repressors (open top Rhino's) b.c its stronger than their AOF rules (AOF is the Ynnari rule but you pick at the start of each turn to do 1, then 1 per each 30pt character and 1 for ST. Celestine).

As you would guess Ynnari Space Marines would be strong right? Well not as strong as Open top Rhinos. Now imagine i could Double Shoot out of those RHinos with Re-rolls using 6 of any combo pf Melta guns, Flamers or HF's, Storm or Heavy Bolters.

The entire game would have to be re-balanced at that point.

We complained about the fact that that rule made it impossible for us to use Auras. I think it's pretty clear.

I'd rather see them keep that rule, but understand that giving auras to our HQs is pointless (except for CC), and thus give our HQs OTHER means of helping the troops.

Thats why i talked about SoB, their main army wide rules Acts of Faith doesnt work if your in a vehicle, thats like DE not getting any benefit from PFP until the turn after they get out of the vehicle (b.c thats how AoF works currently).

Have we considered asking BoLS to post up our letter in case anyone else wanted to support it?

Well, we could bet at this point that we weren't going to see a codex this year as GW tends to do bundles in December and we have a good idea of what codex will will see through November.
