Nicely done! Was it worth it? Did you win the game, or did you regret not shooting something else?

I won but it was still pretty tight. Needed to take him out though because once he gets into combat it's game over.

Round 2 vs Morty last night. Went down turn 2, although it was a 75% CWE list as I swapped the Reaper and Tantalus for a Wraithknight.

What was your WK loadout?

Just default gear but I combo'd him with the Iyanden relic, an autarch warlord (re-roll 1's to hit and no overwatch if he charges), a warlock (Jinx on Morty), a Farseer (Doom on Morty, Fortune on WK) and the Supreme Disdain stratagem. 24 attacks at S8, AP-2, D3 damage, with any attack roll of 6 generating 3 additional attacks. All with re-rolls of 1 to hit, re-rolling wounds and FNP to absorb return fire and mortal wounds from the relic and Morty exploding when killed

So Wraithcannons and feet? Why not Sword and Board if melee? That way you have a 5++ at least.

Firstly because my WK is modelled with the wraithcannon and secondly because the benefits of wounding on 2+ vs 3+ I didn't think outweighed the benefits of 16 extra attacks, especially with the stratagem where I'm fishing for 6's on the hit rolls.

I mean the modeling part is a good reason XD, but you dont have to swing with the sword.

I prefer the utility of being able to both shoot and fight but YMMV.

No worries. I love the look of the sword/shield WK but couldn't be bothered to magnetise the kit so went with the standard loadout.

Had a game in which my army squared off against the fat man himself yesterday.

Had him at 2 wounds with most of his death-guard acting as dead guard by turn 6 and won on objectives, which I'm happy with.

All of my vehicles died, my Jet Warlocks survived on 1 wound apiece, whilst the Farseer didn't get hit. The Ravagers limped back to the Webway and the Solitaire took prideful place as the only woman mad enough to charge into Mortarian to contest an objective with a turn 6 Blitz, winning the day.
