| I'm really enjoying DE in 8th edition; right now is a little volatile as the new codex releases are providing armies that I was matching up well against with some new goodies that make it a little more difficult to contend with, but that will most likely be short-lived. | |

| I am not enjoying DE in 8th edition. Bland, featureless, and boring is how I'm finding it. It's a mixture of my hatred of 8th edition and my contempt for our current rules. I am really hoping for a worthwhile codex because I'm really bored with 40k right now. | |

| Yeah, my take has changed as time has rolled on. I don't know if we can characterize Dark Eldar as fully in 8th edition yet. We are in limbo, a very out matched and bland limbo. I really despise GWs rollout strategy. Always upsetting. "Welcome to 8th edition! ...1 year later!". Wasn't bad when it was primarily index armies. Really sucks being an index at at this point. | |

| The issue is it's not like we have a whole lot of options to explore and exploit to try and get something working like we did in 7th edition. Everything has been so homogenized that you basically just get 1 or 2 lists and a few tweaks here and there on them. | |

| I've also lost most of my enthusiasm towards dark eldar to the point of starting a second army so I can actually have variety when playing | |

My experience as well. Getting frustrated because an index is inferior to a codex is silly, and we never imagined we could get into one of the first 10 codices, so there is little surprise or frustration to be had. But pre-codices meta i was having a blast, and i probably still will post-codex. Good to see some positive attitude on this forum

| Yep, no point whining until the codex comes out. Might as well shout at ice to melt faster. | |

Good to see some positive attitude on this forum Haha sorry, Mppqlmd. That was from October. At this point, I'm playing pretty much against Tyranid armies and hating it. I've hung up the game until our codex drops. No point in playing something that isn't fun!

| Oh well i'm silly and can't read dates. But yeah, it always helps to play multiple armies, not to get too frustrated by the lack of codex | |

| I turned my back on the Omnissiah when the Ad Mech codex came out. Honestly DE are miles ahead in terms of variety and fun compared to Ad Mech. I know it's not a great codex they got, but DE as an index army feel as competitive as codex Ad Mech too. | |

| We are just in a long wait and seeing other releases and getting bored/envious.
Either way it is nice to have a secondary faction to play to mix it up some what

Either way it is nice to have a secondary faction to play to mix it up some what You're right, but the issue for me is, we can always anticipate a long wait. Just as I can always predict with a level of confidence that Space Marines will not have to wait. I get they're the golden children - but as I've said 100x before: it's a self-fulfilling prophecy; if you drop more money, time, and effort into an army, it stands to reason it will attract a larger fanbase. My major communication to GW in their survey was to create something that resembles fairness/equity in their treatment of armies, game edition roll-outs, etc...

| I mean, at least in this edition we're only waiting about a year. That's a vast improvement on previous iterations of 40k already. | |

Haha - granted. But I really don't like this line of thinking; it is synonymous with 'just being happy we got scraps. could have been worse!'. It could also be better or demonstrate something that resembles a balanced approach to roll-outs.

| I don't have a problem with the poster boys being served first. Just so long as everyone else gets an equal portion, and the poster boys aren't getting seconds before everyone else has been served. | |

| I prefer be positive and live a few weeks full of hope thinking about a great codex. I know that is very naif, but if in the end is a crappy codex i'm going to be complaining fora very long time, so it's now or never xD | |

| If its a shotty codex, i'm sending them my models back and demanding 1000$ credit for a new army. | |

| That's the good thing about this rule set, if it's a bad codex, they have 3 chances a year to change things. | |

| GW has been changing things fairly rapidly by their standards and are definitely paying attention to high level tournament play.
Flocks got fixed, brimstone horrors got fixed, malefic lords got fixed, flyer spam got fixed etc.
The chapter approved changes were a big let down though and I'm super hungry for a codex at this point.

| I don't have a marine army, so forgive me for not knowing, but they did do a decent shake up on armies that had their codex out already, (marines admech). So i'm hopeful that we will get a decent look at.
Although it was highly annoying they didn't tell us and instead let us believe it was going to be a codex lite. Probably our fault for making that up though.

Also, someone find out which fine gentleman is tasked with replying to comments on the 40k facebook page and start a petition to get his condescending ass fired.
