Oh, the usual playing word games. Someone said that most of the armies that had codexes so far have been human, then he replies with technicalities about how space marines aren't human rather than addressing the actual point.

By forseeable future you mean a few months? Anyone would think by the mass of smarmy condescending posts you fill this board with that you're going to be forced to stick with the index for the next few years at least.

| I 99% sure everyone will have a codex by July. I mean they did their 10 in 1/2 a year, when your a business like them you have 1-2yrs of work already being planed and done for the most part, each codex was already finished at least a good 3+ months before released.
Sadly, i do feel DE might be one of the last armies to get a codex.

| I agree that we'll be one of the last codexes, however on the overly optimistic side of things that may mean that some of the suggestions we submitted may actually have a chance of being implemented | |

yeah, being last in this new set up means we will be more balanced, look at the GK and SM books they are not very well balanced at all, then look at the Tyranids, so much better. I honestly hope SM gets a new book right away when all codex are finished, lots of the core traits and stratagems are dog trash and ruined players whole armies (White scars as an example), there is only 1 viable way to play SM atm, where Eldar, Tyranids, even DA's all have multi strong "styles".

| I'm beating April is when we see our codex.
I wouldn't at all be surprised if GW went back to touch up for marines after they catch up all the index books to codex. I'm surprised they haven't released more primaris marines

TBH, I am not expecting the codex to be more than the index with a coat of paint slapped on haphazardly, if not outright nerfed. Also, I enjoy complaining.

| Sales for DE are down for sure, they will buff a few of them no questions asked.

Also, I enjoy complaining. If every other army, who have historically gotten a crap codex, can get some amazing codexes (Tyranids, guard last edition, Chaos, Blood Angels) then I don't see any reason to doubt that Dark Eldar will get some good stuff. It's tough to be optimistic, I get it. The custodes release was pretty bullshit, but I don't see any reason to think that Dark Eldar will get crap on. All the other crap-on armies are doing just fine, with arguably the most put down army getting the best (most options and still competitive) codex in 8th!

| Just browsing for tactics articles, came across this image banner in the druhkari section. http://www.3plusplus.net/category/drukhari/
Plenty of dark eldar dying/blowing up, not a single ultramarine is being scratched. The Ultramarine captain is standing front and centre. Seems more like an ultramarine artwork with dying Druhkari to make them look cool, rather than a druhkari artwork. Speaks of the attitude towards Druhkari in general.

| Let's see ... 2 hellions, I reaver jetbike, 3 wyches and Lelith taking on a force of tyranid that is portrayed to be bigger than most entire chapters of space marines have faced ... Yes ... Yes this makes me feel so so so much better, most of the space Marine art like this has a sense of "they might not survive" or " humanities last hope, pray to the emperor they live" where as stuff like this feels "They live because they are that badass" and "This is a regular Tuesday at the arena"

Yep, I'm still optimistic about our eventual Codex. Chapter Approved was terrible for everyone, not just us, and most Codexes so far have been great. I think we're likely to be ahead of Harlequins and Ynnari (if they get one) in the release schedule, so I'm guessing we'll get the Codex in March or April.

| IDK if they will do anything with Ynnari for now, they might do a new faction and have the Custodes and P-SM's along with Ynnari fight some campaign against Slaanesh only to have the Hrud come and kill tame her.
Not saying that is going to happen, but its GW lol

| Y'know, they could just make Ynnari part of the Primaris thing. They're buddy buddy with Girlyman after all, and it takes them out of our hands and thus makes them not our problem. | |

| We'll probably get our chapter in one of the last position, which can be great... but it raises one question : how long till 9th edition ? If 8th edition lasts for a while, and we were the last codex, then we'll definitly be in a sweet spot. I'd hate to see us wait for an entire year of codex release, then receive it, play with it for 3 months then be outdated already and wait another edition of CSM/SM releases. | |
