| In the little review I did of Chapter Approved I mentioned how paying for errata is really bad. It sets a sour tone for the game where you're constantly buying books with updated rules just so you can keep using your army at the correct points values, and of course no one of those books has all the rules in one place. Some armies are going to need more than 5 books to play. Like imagine if they actually did release a Ynnari codex. You would need the BRB, the Index: Xenos 1 for all the options the codexes don't include, the Harlequins codex, the Ynnari codex, the Craftworlds codex, the Dark Eldar codex, the Imperial Armor Xenos index, the Chapter Approved for the updates to the indexes and codexes...
Microsoft Access is easier to understand than this.

Please, this isn't a science-fiction forum The thing that'll get really messy is if they start releasing Chapter Approved regularly... and they don't include the infos on the previous issues. Imagine having to page your way through 4 or 5 of these things, looking for a precise info. *Having Rolemaster flash-backs right now

I'd say it's not only bad but thoroughly unfair. In fact they are making the customer pay for a product and then pay even more for the corrections of an incomplete/faulty product. Errata should be free. But... They can say that they are releasing new rules (Apocalypse, vehicle construction, etc.) which are accompanied by errata, as a plus. My take is that they should release both, rules and errata, as White Dwarf contents if they don't deserve a full book. I know i'd buy a White Dwarf* to have such rules or errata alongside its regular contents which I normally don't value enough as to buy the magazine. But the way they do it now, I don't buy the White dwarf nor will I buy the Chapter Approved book. *This is not foolish; it's rumored that rules for some Necromunda gangs made of miniatures from the 40K range (chaos cultists, genestealer cults and that) will be released as White Dwarf contents.

| Just include every points value in the game in each Chapter Approved. Bam, done.
I initially thought that was why points values were printed separately anyway, but apparently not?

Maybe that's what the "big release for aelfs" refers to? Man, April suddenly seems not so far away.

| Look at the time stamp on the link seems to back up what dude posted earlier.
I wouldn't bet on Ynnari until later in the year. It's a chance for GW to sell new figures and expand a faction that works with three other factions that are already in game.

| Anyone else really confused by the timing of this?
You'd think if they were going to release a new army, they'd do so for the Christmas season, plopping it at the end of January out of the blue just feels awkward.
Also, it seems odd that Sisters of Silence weren't rolled into the Custodes codex--even with the releases, they have even fewer models than Harequins. God, they're not getting a codex too, are they?
I'd be weary of the rumours, several key armies are missing. Genestealer Cults and Sisters notably.

| I don't think GW really does new releases much in December. Historically, I believe they drop bundles.
I'm not surprised that GSC and sisters aren't on the release. Schedule. I feel like sisters are going to be an index for a long time and GSC is a bit of a one trick pony. Chapter Approved was kind to them. The two stratagems ate both useful old rules they had in 7th.

Man, April suddenly seems not so far away. No, the aelfs are for Age of Sigmar. The big rumour there is that Dark Elves are getting revamped as Cthulhu Aelves and there's a chance we'll see "Light Aelves" of some kind as well. It's still good for us because they're likely to be great conversion material.

| Nope, they're the only Marines without a codex at the moment, if I remember correctly. My guess is they'll do a Wolves vs Orks matchup again. | |

Rumour has them getting a codex in May this year. And Forgeworld keeps churning out models for them. It's not that they don't get any love. Not seen anything new for the True Kin from Forgeworld all these last years...

| I love when sites like BoLS or SpikeyBits does a "Top 5 Forge World Units" for a faction. We literally do not have half the FW unit count to make a Top 5 list. | |

One and a half. A conversion kit is hardly an option ^^ As the reaper is one of our best model, I wouldn't call it "a half model"

One of our best units? Debatable, but I'll generally agree. But there's really no denying it's just a scaled up Haywire Blaster glued to the front of a Raider.

Still, didn't require much work from Forgeworld, it's just some super cool pieces glued to a raider.
