| Pretty excited about our codex being next. While I have kept up with each codex release, for the life of me, I cannot remember the cadence leading up to pre-ordering codexes when 'leaked' information pops up.
Since we had T-Sons last week, is it safe to assume we will start seeing glimpses into our 'dex this week, or should we expect it to be next week?

| I am not incredibly sure, but I do damn hope that Vrasque Malindrache or at least Kabal of the flayed skull unique abilities are included. This is the first codex that I have had to wait for as I started late Codex 7 with DE's already being out | |

| Well, its likely to be one of the next three every couple of weeks, so it really depends where in the order we come. We'll likely see the "leaks" for one of the armies in the next few days after Thousand Sons are out. Looking at it, that would mean starting from next week. I would probably guess though that we'll be the last, BUT I say this optimistically. Necrons and Tau are unlikely to get, because they don't need right now, new models. We COULD come with a few new characters, but LoW. If GW are nice to us. And if so, I would guess them last of the three they announced. | |

| I've seen the rumours stating DE are next, but I'd feel much happier seeing something solid from GW, or even a video of the announcement being made at LVO. | |

| Uhhh, not for a while right? They need to actually put out the Thousand Sons stuff, and then there's something else for AoS or another faction right? So I'd say nothing for another two weeks-ish. | |

| I just got the 2/10 release list and it's all AOS Malign Portents stuff, so it will be at least 2 weeks.
If we're officially next the book will likely go on preorder on 2/10, and we should see Faction Focus articles that week.

Looks like we can anticipate it being next week. BoLS did a Xenos codex op ed today where they called out the poor state the Dark Eldar are in. Always nice to hear others recognize it too.

| Had a chat with the GW worker at my FLGS yesterday, he seems to reckon we'll have the book by about the 20'th of Feb. So a 10th of the 2nd pre-order date sounds about right to me. | |

| And in their dark eldar review they mentioned that we struggle to take out tanks at range. They have no idea about us. It's hordes we struggle with. | |

| I was reading the bols article, Yes i'd say the same, those guys really don't get our army, some of the stuff was just silly. The comments were just as bad, no clue how our army works. | |

| Someone in there made a very astute observation in the comments:
We do not seem to have an advocate within Games-Workshop. The first article that addresses DE, Tau, and Necrons specifically calls out at the end how Tau and Necron suffer in the psychic phase...and what are we? THRIVING? Just demonstrates the ignorance surrounding Dark Eldar.
There was a new article by BoLS today specifically about "Fixing Drukhari"...I finished reading it thinking, "this is just the tip of the iceberg"

Maybe. better cover. We shouldn't be cover camping. Better armour. lolwat? All of those are defensive suggestions. DE are not about Defense!

| I'd like a stratagem called "Midnight Raid 3CP : Instead of normal deployment, keep everything in reserve. At the beginning of your second turn, you can deepstrike all your army. You don't lose from not having units on the table in the first turn"
that way, we prevent a lot of alpha strike.

All of those are defensive suggestions. DE are not about Defense! Honestly, at least our incubi need invl save. We aren't a horde army either; the payoff to not being a horde army is survivability..if we aren't able to survive fire (via armor or otherwise...) then we need models. The cover comment was absolutely stupid.

The cover comment was absolutely stupid. How could they miss that the only viable defense DE (should )have is to be where they can't shoot you with any good weaponds or murder them before they shoot. What's this cover crunching mallarkey ? that's not how you do cocain and capture slaves ?! And on the invo save on Incubi, I would MUCH rather see them being able to connect in melee more reliably. Like being able to jump out of venoms after movement or something. Sure invo save would be nice, but I'd just rather not roll that save throw in the first place. Edit: Do like this part tho, " But the Drukhari aren’t that at all. This is an army that should feel like fighting phantoms. You can’t every get your hands on them because you can’t find them. They strike their targets 99% of the time, and if they ever get caught out in the open are doomed"

| Dark Eldar need to be fast enough to reliably choose our battles. We don't cower in cover, we move out of range and re-engage a better target.
Our surviability comes from being fast enough to outmaneuver the enemy, and being killy enough to silence their big guns before they can do real damage.

| I don't know the cover to me sort of makes sense. We move from cover to cover to close in with our prey. We hide (in cover/webways) till the moment is right. As you mentioned when we get caught in the open we are doomed. We strike hard and skulk back into cover.
I sort of like the idea of cover boosting us, it gives a bit of that assasin feel if you look at it from the DE perspective (being nearly invisible in terrain) instead of the guardsman perspective (trench warfare)

| Yeah, don't think of our use of cover as "hiding in fear", it's "stalking your prey unseen". The latter is very Dark Eldar. | |

| Yeah, I can see that.
Still, all of their top 3 recommendations were defensive in nature.
