Preorders for our Codex and new Start Collecting box next week!

I dont care if i lose every game, just as long as it is fun and i dont feel i'm playing down points.

If i take Wyches and Reavers right now, its a full F ing joke. Reavers are same cost as Shiny Spears, if they where 12pts currently, heck i be happy to play with them, even tho they wouldnt do any damage, its the fact that when they died its not a big deal, and the amount i can use, that will make it fun.

I think it's highly likely that after incredibly similar units (sky dancer and windrider) saw the exact same buff from 30 to 17 ppm that Reavers will be the same. At that point, all you need is a Heat Lance redesign (which is a given) and a cluster caltrop redesign (make it a flyover weapon that does anti horde damage GW! Give different choices different roles pls!)

I think they'd be in a good spot at that point.

He wasnt be pessimistic, he was saying that people with NDA's are sell outs, only say good things, and wont call out something that is bad.

If you have concerns, go ahead and say them, but there is a difference in complaining and criticizing... here is an example:

"I'm worried that the 3 sub factions in the new DE codex will not be balanced well while working as a full army, i say this b.c of past codex's already having poor inner balance, aka the SM codex, look at WS for an exmaple. 2nd they will not work well as a single subfaction army due to the lack of units"

Complaining is "They will suck b.c they have suck before"


FLG is... a bit out of touch, i do agree, but without knowing the actual relationship between thema nd GW, and without knowing if GW made actual changes due to what they said, i'm not going to say "they are GW little spokes b h.", i'll say i dont trust their opinions.

Back to the codex:
It depends on the way how they ate going to implement the three split system to see if it's good or if it's crap. I favour kabal with sprinkled coven for big units of kick ass grotesques so I hope I can play that effectively.

Regarding the start collecting box:
If they didn't add some extra rules to the venom, it's really stupid but cult isn't my cup of tea atm so I don't care.

Does anybody know how much euros the codex, the cards or the collectors edition will cost?

We had a good Index. Almost all of the other faction's Codexes, all released in the last nine months, have been good. Recent experience suggests that our Codex should, also, be good.

Chapter Approved is the exception, but even that led to some interesting things for us.

Looking at the previous 8th edition codices, the Collector's edition will be twice the price of the standard codex (in Europe at least) and will NOT include the data cards. Cards are $15/€12.

It looks like it's the same. I'm looking at the store page for the Nids codex. Both are same amount of pages and looks to contain the same.

"Available while stocks last, this Collector’s Edition of Codex: Tyranids is complete and unabridged, and features a soft touch cover with new artwork on the front and back, black page edges, a black ribbon marker and the original Codex cover art on the first page."

That's the only difference between them. So another cover with new art on it, a marker and fancy page edges.

Also is anyone else annoyed that apparently the 3 xenos books are apparently not worth dice?

Not gonna lie, I'm shallow enough to pay for the looks.

Never understood anyone wanting the collectors edition but to each their own. I'll shell out for the codex and datacards but until I've read through it a few times I very much doubt I'll be buying any more models. Not after buying 30 Wyches on the strength of FLGs "most improved unit in the game" lie.

I bought the 7th edition Archon edition of the codex, mostly for the extra's (objective markers, Coven supplement, and there was a painting guide as well). The cards didn't come with it.

Since then, I've learned that rules are temporary, whatever GW may say. Also, I'd rather carry my book and not worry too much about its fancy cover getting dinged up.

I can certainly understand why people wouldn't want to shell out extra for it. I'm wrestling with myself whether or not I'll get the collector's version of this one or the Harlie one...or both.

Any idea when we can expect some leaks to hit the community site?

I am building a DoK force right now so I have the dice anyway. I like them.

In theory later today. I hope. I'm sitting here refreshing the page like a muppet, knowing damn well there'll be nothing there until later. I'd hate for my efforts to be in vain.

Today, the necron ones have all landed between 3 & 4 UK time.

The leaked tidbits will go a long way to either allaying our fears or enhancing them.
