- I am super excited, and will be hitting refresh all day and all night just in case new info gets dropped. This doesn't happen often (I bought the 3rd ed codex on day dot and then Waited a loooooong time for the fifth ed one) so I'm going to enjoy it for all it's worth!
While splitting the army into 3does Give me a lot of trepidation, so far in 8th they've done a good job with the balancing and having multiple tyranid detachments has worked out easily, so I'm very happy to see this play out and pass judgement later
On the FLG thing, I have to agree with teenage. Reeceus' opinion is worthless. And in fact worse than worthless because he is auritor with power in the community and abuses it. For instance with chapter approved he attacked the dark eldar players for pointing out that the changes that were so hyped up were under thought through and clashed with one of our key weapons. He attacked us. One of the other guys on the show started to say something about us having and point and he talked him down very quickly.
Now before you say "we'll just don't listen to it then". I don't any more, but because other people do I still get bombarded with his opinions, so it isn't like I have a choice.
Whether other reviewers of gw product are like this I cant say, and I don't feel our splinter mind guys will be, but FLG, I shake my head. Maybe you misunderstood my initial point, which was that to me seems wrong to “attack” the ethics of play testers / bloggers. You are free to do/buy/listen whatever you want of course, and to express your opinion (we are hear for this), but I think is unfair to blame the working ethics of other people. Seems even more wrong to directly attack splintermind guy, just because someone else behave inappropriately before. I was thinking that in wester countries everyone is innocent until he is proven guilty. Btw, I also would like to highlight that I’m “defending” splinterming just because I find out of place to attack them, not because I’m a fanboy of any sort. I personally don’t like their podcasts at all.

| I may be a wet blanket but I'm never trying to separate people from their hard earned cash with vague promises or misleading them into thinking something is going to be great. I am extremely skeptical when it comes to Games Workshop because they have lied to us so often you could set your watch by it and constantly self-agrandize their own "new and improved!" format while removing Fantasy and with it entire factions from Age of Sigmar.
Do not trust GW. Do not trust play testers to give you unbiased or even remotely accurate information. Wait until the codex is released, read it, and then decide what you want to buy, if anything. Hype is fun but have fun without your wallet in hand or you're going to make a mistake. And if you can't do that, at the very least don't encourage other people, especially new people to the hobby to buy things based on speculation.

| I'd also argue that we should let people newer to the hobby actually enjoy the preview season and let them get hyped/invested in what they want to enjoy, rather than filling these forums with rhetoric, debate, in-fighting, and unbridled skepticism.
But hey, maybe I actually enjoy collecting these models, and playing the game.

Everyone should decide by himself after checking the product, not relying to much on people who tell them “is great” or “is crap”, especially when these people theirself didn’t se the product.

| It's like you are stuck on repeat. Yes we know you don't trust anyone and your edgy and you are a rebel to the system and all that.
This is a post about a new release, each post in this forum is about another topic. You constantly just speak about a single thing. Don't trust gw, and don't give them cash. Do you not see all you are doing is making every thread tiresome and boring.

That artwork on the Collector's Edition is sweet. Is it new artwork, or am I just blind?

That artwork on the Collector's Edition is sweet. Is it new artwork, or am I just blind? It looks amazing, personally considering to get the CE. Very much reminds me of the 5th? edition codex artwork.

Not until it actually is on preorder. Can you at least throw a dart on the "Yeah it's a Codex" vs "Oh yeah, it's a Codex" scale?

| ESE, accounting for the fact you have a life, can we expect some kind of info dump on Friday? Obviously any of it could've changed but it could give us a picture frame at least.
Say midnight in China? (Who will get to Friday first in the world?)
Midnight in the republic of Kiribati I meant (research!)

| I'm excited as anyone else for this announcement, but largely just because we'll just get this out of the way finally.
In regards to the current discussion about playtesters. Front Line Gaming are sellouts that have sold their credibility as an organization for being Warhammer Community II. It's fair to criticise them for this. Hell, I haven't been on FLG's site since their frankly insulting condescension back before the index dropped. Remember that?
In the same sense, Splintermind is not FLG. They're two different organizations with two different types of people in them. Pointing to the faults of one to discredit the other is disingenuous. I'm a bit younger than the average goer of this forum, and for sure a lot less knowlegible, but even I know that argument is utter and absolute crap.
People are attacking ESE for saying what again? That the codex is "solid." That's it. That's all he's said about it.
Is that the standard for selling out now? A single moderately positive word about a book none of us have read yet?
I'm not against the Devils advocacy and pessimism in the community. I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy participating in it from time to time. Discussing differences in opinions is the purpose of a forum by definition, no?
What I can't stand is people lashing out against one of our most respected members, insinuating he's a sellout/shill/what have you, over the minimal comments he's made over content only he's had access to!
I have a great deal of respect for everyone on this site, even Teenage Angst despite some disagreement in the past.
But to see us lash out at our own community is just bloody stupid, appaling, and most of all, disappointing.
This book isn't the most important thing in the world, I'm just sad it's important enough for some people to stop treating others with civility.

Midnight in the republic of Kiribati I meant (research!) Doesn't go up for preorder until Saturday. Given that I do all the editing and have a three day old Trueborn, it will be a helluva effort just to make Saturday Also, it's A CODEX

| ." If the Splintermind guys genuinely think it's good then it should be easy for them to find a current GW product they genuinely think is bad and talk about that too to set the record straight that they are, in fact, still independent"
Teenage angst, have you listened to the splintermind podcast at all? I believe both ESE and Thor regularly do just this, most notably on the outgoing of 7th edition, reviewing mandrakes and GW's lack of understanding of statistics when it comes to the Klaivex and his demo klaives.
Anyway, back to the topic. I'm looking forward to this one. I'm hoping we see some buffs to the archon so at least he's a good support character (combat beatstick would be nice but guess that's not really their m.o)

| I am not a huge fan of the reavers in the new box but that it has 11 models and only 5 (I really hope 6) spots on the venom might be an indication that finally it might be possible to have a fast unit as infantry instead of only being viable in cardboard boxes. | |

If any of the units in the start collecting box gets a buff I'm very grateful as I would like to use all of them. Sadly succubus and reavers aren't that useful at the time. So I really hope they got some love.

| Not only is the Codex finally coming, but a week sooner than expected. As an extra bonus our announcement is stealing some the hype Necrons might otherwise be getting.
Reavers, Wyches and Succubus made good - that would be outstanding if true.
Pretty much regardless of whether they get Drukhari right or miss, we will be better in a fortnight than we are now, and that should make the game more fun. To know exactly how much, I will try to get my new and improved mathhammer out soon after the Codex is released.
