| When you fire multiple weapon types from a Razorwing or Voidraven, what is the correct procedure for resolving the shots, please?
E.g.; you declare that you are going to fire your DL's and two missiles at an opponent's transport. You fire the DL's first to (hopefully) open up the transport.
Do you then fire the rest of your weapons and your opponent resolves everything at the same time against the vehicle, or do you wait for him/her to resolve the DL's and then you fire your remaining weapons at the spot where the vehicle was, only now (hopefully) there are softer targets to be had?
I have had people play it both ways and an not sure of the correct sequence, or if there is a correct sequence for this situation.
Thank you. | |

| You fire at the target and resolve the attempts to hit. Then you resolve the damage. It's impossible to shoot a unit with, say, missiles, after lances from that same unit were used to wreck said transport.
Pg 15 has the sequence Pg 60 notes that the entire unit still has to fire at the vehicle when shooting vehicles. There's also a quite explicit FAQ entry concerning this.
You declare your target. You roll to hit with all the weapons firing at said target. You roll to wound/penetrate. Relevant saves are taken. Casualties are removed/vehicles are possibly wrecked and nits disembark from them.

| Everything at the same time, sadly. Even beeing able to hit multiple targets (like PotMS vehicles or Ghost Arks) can't help.
Only some sort of special rules allow that.

| 100% with Thor and Local Ork. It would be rather boss if you could launch missiles at the former inhabitants of the tank that you just nuked, but that would make sense, not jive with the rules of 40K . I guess once the DL's pop the vehicle the missiles decide that "You know what, the tanks already dead; what would the point be of hitting the target anyways and causing further damage?" | |

| OK, thanks guys. That's essentially what I thought it was, but I wasn't 100% sure and I wasn't finding the exact answer with my casual perusal of the rules book. It's not that frequent an occurrence since my DL's and Dissies generally suck at opening up things in the first place So I usually unload the guns and one missile for a better chance of popping something, and sometimes two missiles if there's also a good chance of scattering onto something else close by. When the guns have hit, it's usually fine except that I am often then wasting a missile shot. But, I have had a couple of opponents insist on resolving the guns first and then my missile(s) on what's left of my target's contents. And I have actually only had one opponent so far verbally insist on it being done the correct manner as I am going through the motions. He really knows his stuff, so I was sure then that this was all correct, but thought I'd ask here anyway. Cheers. | |
