| Does anybody of you know a great alternative for wracks to field big blobs for the PoF strategem? | |

| I believe the unit still has a maximum of 10 models so no big blobs required. | |

| Well, Zombies and Ghouls are an option.
Back when I had some, I mashed a Kabalite Warrior unit with some Dryads which looked very nice.

| I personally plan on using Ghouls until I find out whether I like them enough to find better alternatives. | |

| Do people tend to not like the wrack models? I didn't think I would like them myself but I grabbed 10 of them to use for a patrol detachment with the new codex, and I'm actually quite pleased with how they look once I assembled them. If price is the issue, well that's why we have Ebay and Bartertown. | |

I don't know about Bartertown, but I just looked on ebay and the cheapest Wracks are ~£20.00 for 5. Hardly a budget option. - Woozl wrote:

Of course I have a bunch of talos and wracks already for the spare bits When you use Ghouls as Mandrakes, do you modify them at all, or just use them as they are? I ask because I have an abundance of unused Ghouls and a deficit of Mandrakes.

| I modified them to add a talos / cronos arm and a wrack mask (see photo from my previous post).
Since the baleblast is kind of a "hand" attack, I'm just going to paint the hand blackened or something when I get to it.

Ah, okay. Sorry, I'd assumed that those were Wrack conversions, not Mandrake ones. - Woozl wrote:

Well, in fairness, their whole bodies are usually black.

| I really like those conversions! Those look like mini me versions of my grotesques conversions! They would be awesome wracks for me! | |

| Wracks are my fav looking model I just love them...but I wasn't keen on them from day one. The more artwork i have seen of them the more I like them.
I must admit that £22 for a box of 5 is simply too high for what is only basic troops. Why are the other troops £18 for 10? Had they all been £18 it would have been a little better.
Scourge are £15.50 for the same amount of models and loads of spare guns...I think Wracks should have been a similar price.
Watch out of ebay because it often the old finecast boxes on there and you don't want those.

| Yeah the price is silly when all our other infantry is cheaper, including hellions/scourges which have skyboards/wings to add onto their models in addition to a whole bunch of options. Some models I'm willing to buy full price to support my local store, but wracks ain't one of them.
I do like the models though, looking forward to getting some paint on them.

| I have used chaos cultists with spare coven bits to make wracks. I needed more in a pinch and i worked with what i had at hand and i actually like the rag tag look. I have some i made out of wyches as well with wrack masks and spare coven bits for female wracks. | |

| I'm eyeing up those new Idoneth Deepkin Namarti (the blind troops) for a potential wrack alternative: | |
