I have an idea of an archon and 8 lhameans in a raider, possibly poisoned tongue for the reroll wound rolls of 1, or black heart to get the pfp charge rerolls turn one and the +1 to hit turn two, with an archon with writ of the living muse to reroll the 1s as well.
lhameans are individual characters with 3 wounds for 15 points, the raider soakes the overwatch, while the lhameans deal around 8 mortal wounds per fight, 5 regular wounds against meq, and 12 against geq (turn two)
second approach: same thing with half the lhameans in a venom

Just remember Lhameans are not characters anymore and you should be golden. Also turns out you can't have more than 4 Lhamaeans in a single detachment (in matched play) even with several Archons. So I guess go Venom ?

damn i completely missed the absence of character, thanks for that, but still 8 single models with 3 wounds should be fine, at least hillarious, when your opponent has to declare wich units fire at wich lhamaean with how many shots.

i would take a second <kabal> patrol detachment in a raiding force

I’d throw in a couple of Sslyth to catch wounds and add a tougher model to the mix.

I was toying with the Venom version of this, led by a Poison Tongue Archon. Dealing a Mortal Wound on a 4+ to wound makes Lhamaeans rather nasty. Shame they have so few attacks.

The only potential issue is that a Raider squad with an Archon will cost upwards of 275pts, so they'll have to kill some pretty expensive stuff to be worth it.

I don't think I'd bother with this, to be honest.

To my mind, Sslyth are better for a Warlord Archon who intends to maintain a relatively safe distance from the front line.

For the Lhamaean tactic, I'd rather save on points and just send in a secondary (non-Warlord) Archon, and accept that he'll almost certainly die.

I will run a Poison Tongue Warlord with Djin blade and Soul Thirst WL, so he will already be healing himself, but the Sslyth can take that occasional Djin blade mortal wound for him, or when I want to save on base armor to preserve the shadowfield.

S5 -1 3 attacks re-rolling hits and 1s to wound is very solid for Sslyth I think. Plus while being transported, they shoot as well as a Scourge. Loosing a wound sucked, but they are 17 points cheaper now.

I will include at least 1 or 2. Someone has to guard the Lhamean waifu harem when your Lord is passed out from all the super heroin.

But that's my point - it seems better to run the Lhamaeans with a different Archon (not your warlord).

That way you're free to charge them into dangerous situations without having to risk your warlord.

I mean, if you're taking 8 then you need at least 2 Archons anyway, so it just seems logical to assign them to the least valuable Archon.

Aren't they just 4pts cheaper now? Or are you not counting Chapter Approved?

That said, it was a bit weird that they had more wounds than a hulking Grotesque. Razz

Out of interest, what are your thoughts on just running your warlord in a Venom with 4 Sslyth?

It's expensive, but seems potent. That's 24 poison shots without the Archon at 18" re-rolling wounds. If you disembark, that's 12 re-rolling 1s and another 12 re-rolling all misses. Give a blaster to the Archon, and you can dart around at max range until it's time to get stuck in. That sniper pistol relic is also very nice and something I intend to try.

I am certainly going to try it. I prefer a Venom over the Raider both due to cost, the -1 to hit on the Venom, and the fact that this is finally a decent option to transport an Archon with a retinue. I would probably include one Lhamean anyway so the Venom is not a sausage (hemipene?) fest.

So I will be experimenting with the best ratio for these two archons, their venoms, and their entourages. We shall see.

I guess I wasn't counting chapter approved, which means we lost a wound in exchange for 4 points. Boo hiss!

I'd try some 3d party legs with a long skirt or ball dresses and wych torsos and heads, some spare power swords from kabalites or just make your own skirt if you have the skillz with green stuff etc

Maybe use those sisters of slaughter? Not really a skirt but if you use just them they are easy to recognise.

The Warhammer Fantasy vampire counts range has some nice options I think. Especially the old metal Lamian Vampires (almost the same name). You get those on eBay pretty easily.

It is a good suggestion though because in the lore they wear Kabalite armor (at least in the past couple of codex's havent read into this one yet). I think I may do that rather than having them run around in dresses.
