Reaper Discontinued?

Hi Guys,

Long time lurker in the shadows, first time poster.

I was browsing Forgeworld last night and noticed that the Reaper is listed as "no longer available" which, on the regular GW site at least, usually means it is being phased out. I know it's a piece that is a little less exciting after the cost decrease on the Ravager, but I really like the look of them and am sad to hear this as was just planning on ordering another.

Has anyone heard that this would be happening or is this likely just a usual forgeworld shenanigan for when they change out molds?

The U.S. store is just displaying it as "Sold out."

I certainly hope it isn't discontinued, it's still a pretty amazing model!

I sent an email to Forgeworld a few minutes ago asking for a clarification. Will keep you guys updated!

It probably just means they have to fix the mold so they halted any orders in the meantime.

The Thunderhawk became "No longer available" for a few weeks and people lost their minds.

"Hi,

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately this kit is no longer available to order and it was removed from our web store once the last of the stock of it was sold. This does not necessarily mean they will never return but it won’t be available for the foreseeable future.

Well..that sucks.

Seems weird to discontinue it just as the codex drops... but alas, they did. I guess that's how it shook out. I can't say I'm not disappointed.

I suppose if anyone here happens to see one on the secondhand market and isn't thinking of picking it up for themselves I'd appreciate a heads up!

Has anyone noticed if forgeworld has more discontinued models than before, all armies mingled ?

I know it's not exactly legit but there are other places to get these models from, I think it's against forum rules to post links up for them though

Well posting a link to a place where to get a model the official sources can't field.... I don't really see the problem.

Glad I bought a Reaper and a Tantalus a while ago, I'm safe. Seems weird they're gonna discontinue what amounts to a small upgrade pack, though.

The model may be gone, but the rules will be sticking around for a while.

Since the kit was essentially a conversion to begin with, I say we open a thread to toss ideas of how to make one ourself (Outside of shady third party vendors, of course.)

Still really sucks we lost one of our two Forgeworld kits though, let's hope we can get some more FW love in the future.

I started to make a "model-T" Reaper using one of the older, 3rd edition raiders. I'll try to get some picture of it.

Isn't it pretty much just replacing the shock prow with a haywire lance? The only part that you can't really replicate is the huge frak sail which is honestly the best part of the model for me.

it has a different tip and a different sail, and no "middle part" where the extra splinter rifles should be

The Tip looks a little like a big Haywire Blaster, and the generator for that continues down the centre of the boat. It also has two blades coming off the back that a regular raider doesn't have.

Aaaand, it looks like it's back in stock on their website now guys... I am... confused... to say the least.

I suspect it's back in stock because they aren't discontinuing it. FW is discontinuing the whole Elysian guard line now and they have a whole "last chance to buy" thing going on now and they would do that for the reaper if it was going as well. Plus one would hope FW would keep one of our only two current FW models in stock..

I'd certainly hope so... that makes the response I got from Forgeworld customer service really weird though.
