| Thx, I'm lad you like them!
I always start from a black undercoat. Then, for the yellow parts, I start with 3 to 4 thin layers of Ilanden Darksun, followed by a mix of Ilanden Darksun and Golden Yellow worked up all the way to a mix of golden yellow and skull white (about 1:4). As already mentioned, everything is done in several thin layers, the cronos for example took me about 16 layers before it was to my liking:)
I hope that solves your question, otherwise, ask away!

Grts Nico Great thanks! I've been trying to get a gritty yet bright yellow but never got anything to my liking until I saw yours on GW blog. Never thought I'd find you to ask though. :p Will give it a try once I strip down my current test models. Thanks again.

| That's a lot of layers! Serious kudos for your patience in painting that many! I'm using yellow to highlight my kabalites but with just edge highlights I'm hoping not to have to use more than 2 or 3 yellows. Really like your stuff though, particularly the cronos | |

| Soooooo... Long time since I've posted something here... Unfortunately, not much has changed since last time I blame it on my new working place So what DID change? - Everything is undercoated - 1 Venom got finished - I managed to complete a Razorwing in just a few hours (not high standard, actually more of a test for my new airbrush :p) - 10 wyches got their first 3 colours (wychsuits in grey + badab black, first yellow layer and first skin layer) - 18 others got their very first layer (space wolves grey on their wychsuits) But enough talking for now, I'll start uploading some pics! | For an upcomming tournament, I'm thinking of changing my agonisers to venomblades (as suggest by "somerandomdude") but I don't really have an idea on how to make them stand out from regular blades or power weapons...
I could paint the with a little green or such to indicate that they are poisoned but that sounds a little lame to me... Anybody a better idea?

| Hi everybody!
I finally made it back after 10 months of absence!
Unfortunattely, during those 10 months, I didn't do anything DE related... On the other hand, I did a lot of warhammer and 40k stuff, mostly small projects, some commissions and some work for competitions. (which resulted in a few top 3's and 1 gold)
Today, I finally dusted of my Wyches and I'm ready to poor some new life into them.
I started by assembling my scourges but before I'm starting to paint, I have a question: what colours do you think I should use on the wings to make sure they fit the yellow armour. Purple?

| Everything is better in purple ^^ but some glowing green could be nice too. | |

| The tubing on my wychsuits and the vials on my chronos are already green so the tubing and the vials on the scourges will be green as well. Painting the wings green will be a bit too much I think... | |

| Black with orange accents? Yellow and orange go surprisingly well together if shaded properly. | |

| Sounds like a good idea... I just began undercoating my scourges with my airbrush but I had to stop because it's so hot over here that my paint dried out before I could finish undercoating the first one Grts | |

| I think I'm going for the purple batwings. Tomorrow I'm going to give it a try... | |

| Interesting color sheme, looking forward for more. It's not he best idea to paint wyches in this currenty edition, but who know, maybe our wyches will become better in the next edition perhaps. I'm also painting wyches at the moment, I jut enjoy the models, but I'll keep them off the battelfield in most cases. | |

| For the moment, I'm exercising my masking skills so I can speed up the venom/raider/ravager painting process.
I still have a hull lying around which I use to test on, unfortunately without much luck. If I can spare some time tomorrow I will give it another shot. (That is if I can stand the idea of putting my new scourges aside :p)
As soon as the raider looks like I want it to look I will post pictures!
