Eh, Disintegrators are plenty good
Heavy 3, S5, -3AP, D2 is pretty much just as good as Heavy 2, S7, -3AP, D2 in most cases, and better vs T4, where it matters. it's 50% more shots after all.
I'm glad the craftworlders are going to be good, and they seem to be more shooty and less stabby oriented than us. So there might finally be a point to taking them as allies, as kabal replacement, though losing PFP hurts a lot.

I just read that Dire Avengers are likely to become Elite and Rangers also move into FA/Elite. If that's true that's gonna hit a lot of Craftworld players very badly into the guts.

Oof, that hurts indeed. Rangers were the only troop choice that I found interesting for Craftworld. :/ That leaves Guardians as the ONLY troop. That's not even a choice anymore. :/ I seriously hope they make guardians worthwhile, because with the current rules and their range of 12", they really aren't. Imagine Kabalites having only 12" range, and being our only troop choice. :S

Same here. Instead of making Guardians a good choice by being compelling, they instead just become mandatory. I seriously hope CWE get a new Guardian kit because otherwise GW forces people to use Failcast which is nothing short but one major FU.
However: Shuricans have 18" range by default, as well as AP-1.
Also, we don't know yet how the new codex will combine Harlequinns and Corsairs (if this rumor is true). They could still potentially have a great range of troops to choose from (and I'm somewhat salty that CWE get first-class Corsair access but we don't).

Guardians are plastic. However, they come in a box of 8, and Guardian Defenders need 10 models minimum. Storm Guardians only need 8 but they are completely worthless. In short, I doubt we'll see Craftworld Battalions or Patrols. They'll go for Spearheads or Vanguard or Outrider detachments I guess.

Oh, they are indeed plastic? Then this is plastic that only a mother can love...
Fingers crossed they get some kind of flexible detachment rule similar to us (which I think would make sense if this truly is a 3-in-one codex). Otherwise I agree, specialist detachments might be the way to go.

One thing to consider is that, at least according to these rumours/leaks, Harlequins and Corsairs are both getting merged with Craftworlds. So Eldar might also have Harlequin troupes as troops and possibly Corsairs as well.

It was said earlier that their guns were going to 18" and getting AP-1 base (effectively making them vastly superior Kabalites).

I missed that part.
And for some reason I doubt a Craftworld army can just run Harlequins like that. I think Corsairs are just going to be an alternative to Ynnari to run Aeldari soup. If they do get Harlequins back like that, I'm going to be pissed. Harlequins used to be in the Dark Eldar codex as well when I started.

I don't ever recall harlequins in any dark eldar codex? And I've been playing dark eldar since they were first released.

They were in the 5th edition book. Page 42 or 43, I think.

He seems way more menacing than before at least. we'll have to wait and see if he gets any additional rules/stratagem.
And I hope he does because he's more expensive than 2 dreadknights, and I'm not sure he's worth that much.

Have a great Christmas, all.

Corsairs get their own models? I can't wait to see them.
