No worries! I had a feeling this was the scenario you were talking about A scenario that makes me very very irritated.... when you take a special close combat weapon for the acothyst, it should replace his other poisoned weapon with a ccw

| I love the idea of the agoniser, its why i included them in both wych squads for the tournament this weekend. (2 x 9wyches) I find myself hoping for the re-roll to wound drug result.
If, however, it does wonders after this tournament, I'll be back singing its praises. I do know i am facing 18 Grey KNight players, 15 Space Wolf, 9 Necron, 9 Blood angels etc. (115 players) so I suppose it'll have plenty of targets.

| Agonisers ARE better than Vblades. thats not in question , it costs a gajillion points, it damn well should be better, four times better ? I think not, I simply ca't bring myself to pay 20 points for what is a str 4 power wep 90% of the time, it suffers the smae bonkers pricing as the darklight weapons...
If you work out cost effectiveness the VBlade is the clear winner , and wound saturation = failed saves, I have been running mine almost exclusively with Vblades, they work fine every single game so I have to look at the agoniser as 15 wasted points.

| @Sorrow - good to see you again mate I will say, I do think the Agoniser is good enough to justify its points. Point for point it kills MEQ/TEQ better than a V. Blade if you do the math. The V. Blade slightly edges it out vs. GEQ - but though that is interesting, I note that the rest of our army is silly good at killing GEQ, so extra power in that field is of questionable gain. | |

| Seriously, its about getting things done as cheaply as possible, we are talking about the difference between the hek being a 25 point or a 40 pointv model, the vblade costs very little, a str4 power weapin is not worth 20points, if wyches work pergectly well with a vblade, why pay 15 points more fir rhe same net result ?
I can do plenty with 15 points elsewhere, with the Vblade she is still a serious threat to everyone, try it with a Vblade, you will hardly notice the difference,
I have issues with needing to roll 4's consistently on small groups of dice, my lances and agnisers suck, but my Venoms do fine....

| I honestly have never felt a pain from the odd 45 points invested in Aggies for my army by using V.Blades as a cost saver. But I will not argue that if you want to look at it as value gained elsewhere that makes sense - I haven't felt my lists could be helped by redistributing those points though - I want the investment to help me kill Marines in assault as that's an area my army is weak at without Aggies. Perhaps an outgrowth of me running more Lances and less Venoms than the average? | |
