400 pt combat patrol

Local tournament is running a 400 pt combat patrol patterned off the adepticon saturday tournament


Here's what I'm thinking:

Are you not required to fill an HQ slot?

I think the Razorwing is *way* pricey for 400 points, I'd advocate a Ravager in a second. You could also use the extra anti-mech shooting, you have limited options in that list.

Thor: I agree, razorwing is expensive.
I tried linking to the pdf on adepticon's website, the FOC is changed. No HQ required, troops 1-3, every other category has one slot with one extra to swing
Also, no armor above 11 for non-troop, non-dedicated transport, 12 for dedicated and troops

The ravager was my first instinct, but it leaves 50 points (40 if you give it FF), what would fill the extra points?

A Blaster on your other Warrior squad springs immediately to mind. You could also add a Sybarite and Blast pistol to one of the units, or some extra dudes to both.

You could also do a shift to Wracks, Haem, and Raiders as a build and do quite nicely as well.

I think that's a much stronger build than the first one.

well, I looked at the rules again and I don't think the razorwings are legal because they have 5 wounds (the limit for non-troop, non-swarm models is 2)

so, dropped them, replaced a venom with a raider w/ ff and expanded that warrior squad to 10 with splinter cannon

now, instead of 4 splinter cannons and 3 dark lances, the list has 3 SC and 4 DL
I could replace the sc on the warriors with a blaster if I drop the unit down to 9. Make that 8 and both squads have blasters
