| hi guys, first of all thanks for all the lovely tactica articles on here, its been a good read and some of it is pretty encouragin give y intended direction! i got the megaforce just before christmas and have slowly been building it plus adding some extras. my total force now consists of: succubus 20 wyches 10 warriors 3 raiders 1 venom 9 jetbikes 5 scourges ravager razorwing fighter i've played a couple of 500pt games which confirmed my impressions of the army, win big or lose big. i massacred orks but was destroyed by marines (bloody dreadnaughts hitting my wyches) i do now have some questions about a few things i hope you can help with; 1- why are archons so popular? other than PGL for a unit or WWP list enabler, i think the succubus is the better choice point for point. succy and aggy is a steal with that statline and she comes with an invul plus drugs. you have to spend a lot on an archon to get him up to the same level, but i must be missing something? 2- i'm building my vehicles minus most crew and outriders so will end up with quite a few spare models. i'm looking at building them as trueborn (should have plenty of spare lances/blasters/carbines) but i suspect the outriders will be better as wyches, so was looking at making up some bloodbrides. bloodbrides dont seem too popular but can put out a shedload of attacks. is there any virtue in taking a unit of 4 with a weapon, syren with an aggy and escort a succubus? or is it just a points sink? i'll prob only be able to make 3-4 trueborn, so what would be the better build for them? 3- what would you guys add to a list like mine to fill it out. i figure i'm getting near to the 1500pt mark so was looking at adding another squad of wyches in a raider and another ravager. coven units are out of the picture. i dont want mad scientists leading my army and i dont want monstrosities lying in cover on objectives all game. 4-any virtue in a trueborn all-round unit? with a juicy 2 attacks i was looking at having a mixed unit of blasters (2-3), carbines (3-4) and CCW's (2-3 and squad leader with agoniser), led by archon with PGL and combat kit (maybe another blaster too). expensive i know, but looks decent on paper, as can pop tanks, hurt infantry and be competent in assaults. so my first post isnt all take take take, here is something a bit different for you: i wanted my army to resemble more of a corsair aesthetic more than the annual dominatrix convention that some of the models suggest so i've gone for a really bright and clean look, which i've not really seen much on here (probably because its not very "dark" lol). below are some of my colour test models. apologies for the shoddy pics, i've only got my phone cam to work with! cheers! | |

| ok, let me see if I can answer your questions to my full extent 1. There are 3 main builds for him. One is just a blaster for a cheap shooty lord. He equates to a accurate blaster shot. Second is offensive gear with the PGL, and he is used to babysit Incubi. Lastly there is the Huskblade/ST combo, which is used to IC hunt. Pretty much why people take him though is for the 2++ save, which is pretty badass. That being said yes, the Succubus is crazy good for her points, its more up to you how who you want to use, all 3 of the generic HQs have their purposes. 2. Bloodbrides are a decent pick, the problem becomes they compete with some awesome Elite slot choice already. That being said they are super killy when used right. As for the 4 man... I think you could use your points elsewhere (like maybe on 4 Incubi, they would be killy enough) Bloodbrides need their numbers to put the weight of their attacks to be effective, so the more the better. As for Truebon, Blasters are always a solid choice. 3. A Ravager is a must, as for what else... maybe some more warriors or wyches would be decent. You might want to start looking into the elite and FA and decide what you like and start filling those out. 4. Trueborn should never be in assault (sadly, I wanted to do it as well) their problem is that S3 with no power weapon = a dead unit. Their strength comes from the ammount of weapons they can take (4 blasters in one unit, or 2 cannons + carbines if you want AI) You can try the whole CC thing, but trust me from experience it will fail you alot, and they will never make their points back like that. As for the models I love that white. How did you do it??? | |

| Well Shadows Revenge covered most of it.
I'd just like to add though, That a Succubus is the best cheap killy HQ we have. For an archon to get something similar, you'd have to upgrade him more, and then he'd end up being more expensive. However, an archon can become a lot better than a succubus IF you upgrade him more.
Also bloodbrides are great escorts for the Huskblade/soultrap archon Shadows Revenge spoke about. 9 with 3 shardnets, and the archon having clonefield. He's able to weather quite a few attacks. Which allows him to get that soul trap kill easier, boosting his S to 6 and then continuing to instant kill things with the huskblade.
Otherwise, if you'd like your archon to go with incubi. An agoniser + shadowfield and PGL is best. Incubi dont have assault grenades afterall. Also the clonefield isnt really effective with incubi.
I myself am struggling to decide between the huskblade/soultrap archon with bloodbrides, and the agoniser archon with incubi.
I like the huskblade archon the most. and the synergy between his clonefield and the shardnets is great. However, I like the incubi more than the bloodbrides, both looks and gameplay (as bloodbrides are essentially just slightly better wyches with more special weapons).
You can customise your wyches to make them recognizable as bloodbrides ofc, but i like unique looking official models. and the incubi look amazing. So its a tough choice for me xD
Anyway, I hope i assisted in some way.
Also, nice colour scheme. definitely conveys that clean look ^^ | |

| cheers guys, yeah i figured there must be a reason i'd not seen it in lists. shame though, they could have been everything i wanted my avengers to be, shoot stuff up and then polish in combat, making use of their 2 attacks. thanks for the help, see you soon when i get everything built and get gaming properly! | |
