| What I am saying is that the models you have look very much like to old harlequin artwork from the rogue trader days. Very dark and mysterious at the same time.
It impresses me very much at how well done the poses are, the conversions done are also very well considered and well executed. The choice of color is also excellent, good use of the color wheel and contrast and complementary colors.
its all high praise. | |

Just a personal taste, but that would just look silly....

| Fair enough, although I do personally frankly find jesters hats on harlequins, maybe not equally silly, but nearly. | |

| I never really liked my old Incubi, or rather, they didn't really fit the acrobatic theme... So I tried making new ones instead. old new | |

| I have to say I really like the first set, but you are correct, the second set goes much better with your army. They look much more dynamic. | |

| Yes, the torso is from Dark Elf Cold One Knights.
I'm not sure, but I might try to add some sort of decoration, long flowing fabrics or trophy racks from succubi. Not sure where or how, but I feel they perhaps are lacking something...

I went back and looked at them again. I think the dynamic pose is not fully carried through on the models. They look kind of top-heavy in the shoulders. Like the figures are hunchbacked or giving the illusion thereof. What might help fix this is a some back banners that have tassels so a flow of direction can be added. it will help "skinny" the model so they don't look so wide in the should and the tassels or long skinny banners, like a penant, you can really "balance" the figures. maybe that is a bit over the top, but the rest of your models so much "decorative fashion details" that these seem a bit plain in comparison. My thoughts on what might help. If I come up with anything else I post it.

| Seems very nice, good luck. P.S. The colours on the vehicles reminds me of princess Celestia's mane How are they painted? I'd like to use that scheme on my Herald of Tzeentch

| This theme is absolutely incredible, convertable and completely unique. I was waiting for a plane for a few hours recently trying to think of a theme to do with an army and so far I haven't been able to come up with anything remotely as cool and as practical as this. Hats off to you sir, this is the best themed army I have ever seen. Can't wait to see the finished product. | |

| That is amazing. I really never got to appriciate the bird-like look of the Vemon with the feather looking wings. | |

| I'm quite fond of your Harlequin theme army, I had even considered a full space clowns list with the CWE book myself.
Only thing I would say is that I think it is a shame you have opted for standard venom spam for a 'theme' list, does it contain any actual harlies ?
I'm sure there used to be a harlequin wraith lord , could be a nice opportunity to break out a talos from a wwp, on the subject of wwp , why not reavers-as-harlequin jetbikes ?
I really think you could represent the theme better with the composition of the armies, I love DE, but I'm getting real bored of seeing Venom spam lists, it's not like DE are in the same rut as Eldar, who more or less HAVE to run mechspam, there is fortunately so much more on offer from the DE book.
Great paint scheme by the way, very striking, it would take me a billion years to paint all that colour !!

| Well, this is my first finished army list out of many, and this one was for the European Team Championship, hence, the venom-spam.
Nothing more is really finished yet, but I have a lot of other things in the pipe-line.
Baron+hellions Wraith-Manequin (Talos) Incubi Harlequins Razorwing WWP + beasts + bikes
Some of it is earlier in this tread and some is still unassembled.
I'm quite slow and easilly get bored, so next project (adter a quick fix archon into Vect) is probably my Legion of Everblight or Grey Knights.
But don't worry, there will be a lot more in this tread as well.

| After the first silly sentence I guess I stopped reading...
White basecoat, then watered down inks and very much watered down paints in clear colours all over the hull and letting them whet-blend into each other. Important not to wash the model, but to paint with very thin colours.
Then high-lighting with white, again very much watered down, but not used as a wash. And in lots of layers.
Some chequers are painted with white and some with colours, while others are painted with inks on top of the white.
Most is just experimenting with translusency of different colours and starting over with white if you fail...
AND ALWAYS WITH VERY THINNED DOWN COLOURS!
