1200 DE list

Ok this is a list that i have pondered on:

i tried to keep in mind that i will definitely be playing marines (possibly blood angels).

I would like to think there is enough power in this army to take on a marine army. The wyches, warriors and lelith having fleet will allow me to get up close and personal fast and some fire power from the rear should cut down the squads as i get there.

It has been a while since i played 40k (and first time DE) so any comments would be great.

I really like lileths model so i would really like to keep her in the army.

if you put the haemonculus with the drakes they can't infiltrate. (not to mention they are the worst unit in the codex, but i digress)

the other thing that strikes me is that though its a wwp list you have no transports what so ever. You need at least one for the haemonculus and which ever unit he is joining in order to deploy the wwp effectively. i suggest a unit of wracks and a venom for the job.

Whats really dirty is Lucius Pattern Drop Pods... icky when combined with blood talons... had a friend who was experimenting with them, and fought him a few... totally demolished every one of my squads it came in contact with...

What would be the best way to fit in a vehicle without taking lelith if possible?
I could only think of taking one of the heamoculus out.

simplest way. cut the reaver unit in half. nets you the points for a raider w/ flickerfield for the wrack unit you have

drop the mandrakes and 2nd haemie, as well as drop the wyches down to 10. That will net you enough points for two raiders. One for the wracks and one for the wyches + lelith, plus maybe some added goodness somewhere else. Also doing that I would switch the talos gun to a haywire blasters, allowing him to get some ranged action in while he hoofs it across the board.

wwp shadow, talos wont be hoofing it very far (with any luck)

I know, but my suggestion was to drop the whole thing The idea was to Infiltrate the drakes and use them to open the portal right??? well taking the haemie makes them not infiltrate, meaning where the portal is the talos should just hoof it across the board and will be there quicker.

I have found a points error in my list. I am 20pts out. It is in the wracks, i think.

Because i really....really want to have a game as soon as possible. But having to fund 2 new armies can get a little pricey. So I might keep this list and tweak as necessary, and either reduce this to 1000 or start a new one. Was thinking if i could reduce this one to 1000 than I already have the basis models.

Not quite sure what to do to reduce this, Before i can reduce this list though, I need to sort out the points issue.

We are starting from scratch...we don't have any models yet...first orders going in tonight.

I asked if I could get a general idea about which way he was going but....he told me (with a raised eyebrow) what i can do with my dark lance.

Seriously though ....he is very fluffy (not sounding right but its true) so death company assault squads that sort of thing i guess

if you want a cheap DE army goddess, there is always the SR patent pending 1.5k list!!! it is as follows

223- 9 Wyches w/ Haywires, 1 Shardnet, Hekatrix w/ Agoniser; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Shock Prow
245- 10 Wyches w/ Haywires, 2 Razorflails (or gauntlets, whichever you like), Hekatrix w/ Agoniser; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Shock Prow
190- 10 Warriors w/ Blaster, Splinter Cannon; Raider w/ Flickerfield, Shock Prow
190- 10 Warriors w/ Blaster, Splinter Cannon; Raider w/ Flickerfield, Shock Prow
78- 3 Reavers w/ Heat Lance

This army is made up of only 2 Battleforces, 2 Raiders, 3 Ravagers, and an Archon blister. Its relatively cheap compared to other armies as it actually utilizes every part of the battleforce. Also its pretty decent to boot. And if you like Lelith so much you could use her model as your Archon

And if you want to reduce this to 1k, all you have to do is drop one of the warrior and the second wych squad, and the second Reaver (so thats 1 whole battleforce and 1 raider) and add some upgrades around (like maybe nightshields) Its relatively modular and great for begginers to learn the basics of DE

Thanks shadows....That will probably be the road i will take. I did have the idea of using the battlepacks last night before i went to bed and like all great ideas i had to say up and write something out I post it up for you to see on my break or after work. I hate split shifts.

I am going to use the raiders and warriors to set up the heamonculus and his wwp for the wyches, hopefully the reavers and ravagers can entertain and distract the enemy enough for the process and the wyches can come in and do what they do best...hope that made sense to you guys, I have it planned out in my head perfectly but i just can't type it out to sound right.

I still have those extra points that need using but i like the general layout of the army and its not that hard to buy in this form either. Then I can add on as we go up in points.

not a bad list overall, but let me give you some helpful hints

First off the WWP is going to be hard to pull off. Sure it will work the first few games you play, but after that they will either stay far enough to shoot your wyches dead, or will suround it so your wyches will have to come from your board edge. Its risky to do, and is getting those 20 wyches into combat really worth so much of your army percentage wise when you could just drop them down to 10 and give them a raider for cheaper?

You will want to keep the dark lances on the raider. Unless you know you will be playing mostly infantry, you need the extra AT (considering most 1k lists are running on average 4~5 tanks atleast) I will admit if you are only playing against BA, the dissies will help with FNP marines

Other than that the only fat I could see trimming as written is the 9 man warrior squad. You could easily trim that down and use those 36 points elsewhere... Where I would IDK...

Also I would probably split the bikes into two squads. If you want them to be a distractions, 2 units are better than 1 any day.
