Okay, so I'm looking for a competitive army, but not balls to the wall WAAC because australia still uses comp, which can and does effect over all placement. So this is what I was thinking of going with

HQ
Duke Sliscus
=150pts
Putting him in for the drugs double roll, helping me get the best drug for the game, but swapping him for a simple blastercon might be better, just seeing what people think

ELITES
4 Trueborn
-4 Blaster
-Raider with Flikcerfields, Night Shields, Shock Prow
=193pts
Duke rides here more often then not, flickerfields are going to be here because at tournies (or local games) you don't know what type of terrain you will get, so a save is better then no save. Shock prow is something new, but I'm having fun with it, tank shocking lootas off the table is fun, a S10 ram hasn't happened yet, but seems like it could be fun once I loose my lance

TROOPS

-Blaster
-Raider with Flickerfields, Night Shields, Shock Prow
=145pts

These guys fly with the trueborn, offering support from blasters and lances, raiders will do the same job as the trueborn's, anti tank then fun tank shocks late game (or early)

10 Wyches
-Haywire Grenades
-2 Hydra Gaunltes
-Hekatrix with Agoniser
-Raider with Flickerfields, Night Shields, Shock Prow, Torment Grenade Launchers
=260pts

These guys get Torments because they will be up closer, different wych weapon to stop cries of spamming, and to add flexability. These units support each other

FAST ATTACK
3 Reavers

Shoot these guys up into deplyment zones with melta guns, have the opponent split there focus from my main army, or take two melta shots in rear armour (shrugs) seems win-win

HEAVY SUPPORT
Razorwing Jetfighter
-2 Dark Lances
-TL Splinter Rifle
-4 Monoscyth Missiles
-Flickerfields
-Night Shields
=165pts
Gives me two dark lances are the missiles go, so more anti tank, which is a good thing (IMHO), love the model too, it's very pretty

Ravager
-3 Disintegrator Cannons
-Flickerfields
-Night Shields
-Shock Prow
=130pts
Some AP2 heavy bolters, to deal with tough FnP units like paladins, death company, command sqauds, plague marines. Stuff liek that, never know what will pop up at a comp tournie. I do feel like I have enough anti tank to skimp on the lances here, why not have the ravager anti tank and the razorwing anti inf? Well it comes down to how the models are built

Okay so there is my list, and thoughts as to why I"m doing what I'm doing. So thoughts??

I'm not sure what you mean by if your list is WAAC(win at all cost?) it affects your placement; so bear that in mind when reading my suggestions =).

-If you take Sliscus it's sort of a waste to put him w/ blasterborn because you wont get anything from his poison buff. I usually take him w/ 9 trueborn and give them all carbines(even throw in 2 S. Cannons if I got the points cause I like being evil Evil or Very Mad ), if that's a strategy people in your tourny would frown on you could run him in a venom w/ 4 trueborn(2 Cannons/2 Carbines) thats still a good amount of shooting that woulds on a 3+ but not SO much that people will cry you're breaking the codex, I HATE that phrase....

-I prefer Ravagers over Razorwings but that's solely an opinion thing, just keep it in reserve so it doesn't get shot to bits!

-Wych squads look great, they will bask in pain!(let me know how the torrents work out for you, been curious about them).

-Take a unit of reavers w/ Caltrops(your tourny seems somewhat strict so some ppl might get upset @2 squads layed out the same, and the caltrops can be really mean)

-Spliter Racks on the warrior raiders would really help you, especially consider you are only running 5 warriors per raider, you REALLY need to hit as much as possible.


If your tourny is going for theme>power I like that they are policing the lists, I wouldn't agree if it was meant to be competitive though, I just think list building is such a crucial part of the game that if the purpose of a tourny is to see who the "best" player is the store shouldn't interfere with what you make.

Where i'm from(MD) we have the opposite problem; its ALL power gamers, I've just come to accept that unless you want to watch your army die hopelessly over and over you have no choice but to be just as much of an fine gentleman.

NSW and Canberra mainly

So I got two games with this list tonight (love long weekends)

20 wyches is fun,but they do die pretty quickly, first game the double drug roll didn't hlep much (rolled a 1 and a 2, but WS5 isn't that bad), second game with re-roll to wound made them very scary.

warriors in boats is fun, trueborn are right scary

I miss have multi ravagers, but only having one forces me to play better with it, I can count of one turn of it shredding a unit, other then that, it's a game of chance

razorjet is kinda fun, it's a big target though, had it in reserve for the second game and really could have used it a trun or two earlier.

Duke is fun, in a poison unit he would do better, but he can help with his blast pistol

so I'm having fun with this list, a few more games and I can really see what I'm doing with it though
