| Your Heamonculus is one of the best Dark Eldar conversions I have seen, Mortarion. It is simple and elegant, and very effective. A wonderful interpretation that fits perfectly with the DE ethos of speed and litheness.
And beautiful painting as always, especially as the face adds so much to the overall character. Well done!

| Thanks everybody!
@Cavash: The Haemonculus is based on a WHFB Empire flagellant, with a few DE bitz and some greenstuff added.
@Siticus: Good to hear that, because a younger and ambitious Haemonculus was exactely what I was going for.

| oh... I thought the guy in the middle is the helliarch. the one with knives on the skyboard... and this skyboard reallly stands out. the rest is of course also good, but this one is outstanding. | |

| Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been painting some other stuff. But now I am finally ready with a Ravager! Since ravagers act as vehicle assassins according to the background I wanted the nose art to reflect that. From a technical point of view I am happy with how the nose art turned out but it might be a little cheesy. The thing just below the front gun is a night shield generator. At first I thought about having some kind of crystals on the hull but somehow I felt like the Dark eldar would do something more elaborate then that. So a sculpture of some kind of shadow creature on a slightly shield-like background lookd more appropriate. And of course a gem to generate the power field... | |

| [Jaw hits the floor] Cheesy be damned: that nose art is awesome! Stunning work here. I've said it before, and I'll say it again-I absolutely love the shading on the yellow details. Can't wait for more! | |

| And the last three hellions are finally done! The newly painted models. I'm really pleased with the pose on this model, allthough it is hard to capture how dynamic it looks in a picture. I cant take too much credit for it though as it is hardly converted at all. The hellion box is just awesome. The only conversion I did was to make the hair blow in the right direction. (Have you noticed that the hair on all the wych heads seems to blow in the same direction?) The helliarch! If you really want to be a rebel amongst the dark goth space elves, you gotta be blonde! And the final model! The entire unit. I really like the models and the concept of hellions. Too bad they are so bad rules-wise (at least without the Baron). | |

| Very shnazzy indeed! You've truly done the Hellions justice with all of the individual markings on each. Looks great! | |

| And a Succubus is done! It's really hard to get a good picture of it, though, as it is very three dimensional. You can't reaaly see how it looks with a photo from one angle. This modl was built the way I usually build character models. I have a pretty good mental picture of how I want it and then start searching for bitz that fit that image. And it usually results in a lot of minor conversions. For example, a lot of work was spent on getting the pose exactly the way I wanted it. It's been a while since I built a more complicated character model, so it was fun. I'm really pleased with the end result. The only thing I am a bit sceptical about is the symbol on the loincloth. It is the same as on the lower arm part of the armour. But when enlarged to fit on the loincloth it did not look very dark eldar:ish. So I might exchange it for something different. What do you think? | |

| Very nice Succubus. The face is really well done, especially the heavier shading around the eyes, making the white really stand out. Those are the legs of one of the Venom drivers, aren't they? I love those on-hangers in that kit, they allow some incredible conversions.
Ah, and it seems you've also used the spines from the Venom rails! Was trying to use them on a Howling Banshee model, but the small surface of the rail's backpiece didn't lend too well to gluing tightly, it simply kept breaking off. Nice to see you pulled it off.

@Siticus: The legs are actually not from the venom box. At first I had planned to use the Venom legs, but they were not really the pose I wanted. So I used a pair of regular wych legs and modified the pose of them with plasticard and green stuff.
But the back-thingies are from the venom rails.

| Half and half threadomancy...
But I must say I'm quite fond of these! I also never thought of painting Dark Eldar using non-pale skin tones.
The free hand paintings does indeed inspire me as well, might try to put a bit of more "life" in my own vehicles.

| Finally some updates. I've finished another Venom. This time I wanted to think a bit more "outside the box" with the freehand. Painting roses on vehicles from the Kabal of the Obsidian Rose is a bit obvious. After many strange and disturbing image searches for inspiration I finally settled for this. The idea is taken from a concept sketch for Doom 3. It's just enough wierd and disturbing and makes me think about Hellraiser (which to me has a strong connection to Dark eldar and the Haemonculi). It's not really supposed to be something the Dark eldar built themselves (the technology looks way too primitive), but rather some kind of daemonic creature they found in the warp or the darker corners of Commorragh. What do you think of it? | |
