Fine work!

Wow, that is certainly some of the coolest freehand that I have ever seen on a 40k model, and may I say it is one of my new favourite DE models anybody has painted, ever.

If you want more inspiration for weird and slightly messed up images for freehand I would suggest looking at H.R.Giger concept sketches for Alien. They're so dark and brutal that they would fit perfectly in your army!

The actual rose did not turn out that well, but I'm really happy with the image as a whole.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

AWESOME work on these DE, you have given me a TON of ideas of my own army. I have 30 hellions (Love me some hellions!) and I have been searching for ideas on board markings/designs for a LONG time.

Just like my Haemonculus is a rather young one, I didn't want my wracks to be quite as mutated as GW's. I especially wanted to tone down the large bone things on their backs. Mine just have some small bone spikes that have begun to grow.

For some reason the shading on the skull and rose does not show up at all on the photo, but it is there in reality.

I was a bit worried about this one when I started. Would I be able to make it look like an eye when I could not paint a pupil? And the fact that the eyebrow would be almost completely covered did not make it easier. But in the end it turned out much better then I had hoped.

You make even my most careful efforts look like the daubs of a monkey on acid, I am both demotivated and inspired at the same time!

And that is indeed a White lion shoulderpad. I use it to represent Night shields. Som kind of shadowy creature on a somewhat shield-like bakground. I figured the Dark eldar would craft their shield generators into something stylish.

The first part of my Incubi unit ready.








I always felt that the "official" colour scheme for the klaives, pure metal, was a bit boring. This is one of the most lethal close combat weapons in 40k and it should really look like it could cut through anything IMHO. So I painted them like I would giant power weapons.

I really like how you've painted the klaives; looks like they're made from extra-planar crystal or some such.

Oh yes, now those are AP2 klaives! They look downright brutal and ready to make mockery of any armor with their sweeping strikes! I quite like the bone-like helmets as well.
