| Hey everyone. I might be going to Astronomicon Toronto this month, and I've been thinking of taking my DE for the event. I've been drumming up a possible list to take, and here's what I have so far:
Archon- agonizer, shadow field, combat drugs, phantasm grenade launcher- 145
The leader of my army, kitted out to take on just about anything in close combat while being survivable thanks to the shadow field.
Haemonculous- liquefier gun- 60 Haemonculous- liquefier gun- 60
AKA Pain Token Dispensers for my Wyches. They will ride with the Wyches, and give them their Pain Tokens. While the Wyches disembark, the Haemies will stay on the Raider to do drive-by liquifications.
5 Warriors- blaster- 60 -Venom- extra splinter cannon- 65 5 Warriors- blaster- 60 -Venom- extra splinter cannon- 65
Some mandatory troops, there to provide fire support and, in the final turns of the game, zip forward to grab objectives.
9 Wyches- haywire grenades, Hekatrix w. agonizer- 138 -Raider- flickerfield- 70 9 Wyches- haywire grenades, Hekatrix w. agonizer- 138 -Raider- flickerfield- 70
The main assault element of my army, there to charge in and either kill or tie stuff up in close combat. With 4+ dodge and FNP, they can be quite durable. Their haywire grenades also give them plenty of options against vehicles.
6 Incubi- 132 -Raider- flickerfield- 70
My Archon's escort, there mainly to deal with heavily-armoured threats, though I'm hoping they'll still be useful against non-MEQ opponents.
Ravager- flickerfield- 115 Ravager- flickerfield- 115
My mandatory antitank, there to wreck vehicles.
Total: 1363
To fill up the remaining points, I'm thinking of adding one of the following;
-5 Scourges w. 2 haywire blasters (130) -another 5 Warriors w. blaster, in a dual-cannon Venom (125) -Another Ravager (115)
Any thoughts? Also, should I keep the Incubi in the list, or are they not that good for an all-comers list?

| Nice list. It's effective against most things and is great all round.
You should keep the Incubi, in my opinion, as I have found them to be very reliable and paired with your Archon they can cause greater amounts of pain through utilising the PGL.
Even though it would be good to see more anti-tank in your list, I think that you could do with that extra squad of Warriors for capturing points. This way, your fire support shall be spread around more, giving the opportunity to cause more damage. If not the extra Warriors, I would say go for the Ravager, although your Wyches have Haywire Grenades, so I wouldn't be overly worried.

| If all goes well, I'd be counting on the scourges to hack that enemy artilery up in the back. Deep strike them near the transport - risky maneuver - preferably in melta range, and hack it open. But i think a 6 man reaver squad is better. Turboboost 36" around the map to cause additional damage, get 3+ from a few attacks, blocked line of sight from most shots, and if need be, good positioning can go with the heat lances to crack armor.
As i said some times now, i dont see our warriors as good fire support. Better than the wyches for shooting, no doubt, but they are pigshit. As i have said i dislike ravagers, except for disingers vs hordes.
But thats just me, the list looks solide, would like a few runs against it me self. I think reavers are same price as scourges, but reavers are more faster, more durable and cost the same. Ok, if you want 2 heat lances, you will be 1519.
Incubi: your best shock troops and your best way to clean up those squads, that are tarrpited by your wyches. If you throw them away, you will lose the exterminators of your army.

| Hmm...an additional question: if I went for the Ravager, do you think it would be wise to drop an Incubus to squeeze in the points for a 3rd Haemonculous (to give FNP to the Incubi)? Or do you think the Incubi will be fine enough with their 3+ armour? | |

| well, that is a good idea i think. FNP for a squad that already has 3+ armor is good, killing a squad means insta furious charge. And the haem could stay in and liquify opponents from the raider if need be. The FNP is good, because if you can roll for 3+ armor, you can roll for fnp as well, except for AP3, where you only have fnp. All other cases, you have to distribute the wound but above that, you have additional survivability, that is good even for the attached archon - or archoness in my case (yes, the fluff is finally starting to unfold:) ). | |
