First off you need more AT. Ravagers are good starts for small games because of how cheap they are points wise. After that I would look into expanding your troops slot w/ transports. DE is a heavily meched army, and will stay that way no matter what the edition does to tanks.
Also here is an easy sample list that I gave to new players that worked really well in 5th edition. I havent tried it out yet in 6th (been too busy learning the rules and modifying my current lists to bother) but it should still do well comparitively.
SRs Patented Beginners List
150- Archon w/ Huskblade, Soultrap, Shadowfield, Combat Drugs, Haywires
223- 9 Wyches w/ Haywires, 1 Shardnet, Hekatrix w/ Agoniser; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Shock Prow
245- 10 Wyches w/ Haywires, 2 WW (so razorflails or gauntlets, whichever you like), Hekatrix w/ Agoniser; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Shock Prow
190- 10 Warriors w/ Blaster, Splinter Cannon; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Splinter Racks
190- 10 Warriors w/ Blaster, Splinter Cannon; Raider w/ Flickerfields, Splinter Racks
78- 3 Reavers w/ Heat Lance
78- 3 Reavers w/ Heat Lance
115- Ravager w/ Flickerfield
115- Ravager w/ Flickerfield
115- Ravager w/ Flickerfield
Total: 1499 pts
This list is made up of 2 battleforces, 2 raiders, 3 ravagers, and an Archon Blister. Its really cheap money wise, and will show you pretty much everything about DE. From here you can mold this list into whatever your hearts desire.
As for changes to 6th... I guess I would give the Archon a power axe instead of a huskblade, the soul trap, and some random upgrades. With the points left over I would probably buy 1 plane (maybe a razorwing in such a low point value) just for some AA.
Secondly I would just keep increasing your point values. The more games you get, the more you start to understand how the game is played, and the better you get. GL and HF raiding!!!
