| Hey, I'm completely new to 40k, and after looking over the different races, i decided i like the dark eldar the best. I know they are particularly hard to use, but i don't mind
That said, I was intrigued by the psychic powers of 6e, however I'm unsure who can use what.
If someone could help me understand the answers to the following questions:
Who in the Dark Eldar List can use Psychic Powers? Are Psychic Powers rolled at the beginning of every combat, or do you roll them when you make your list? What is a warp charge and how does it affect psychic powers? How do you use a psychic power in combat? (announce it and roll?)
Thank you for helping out a newbie! I plan on making up tokens and practicing lists to see what i like before actually buying models and painting them, God Bless!

Nice that you found your way here. The Dark Eldar are a very great army and have some very beautiful models. - Gandalf777 wrote:

Who in the Dark Eldar List can use Psychic Powers? The Shadowseer in the Harlequin unit is the only Psyker in the Dark Eldar list. - Gandalf777 wrote:

Normally psychic powers are either chosen when building an army list, if it is a codex power, or rolled before a game begins, if it is a rule book power. But in some tournaments it might happen that powers are rolled for only once. - Gandalf777 wrote:

A warp charge is a simple counting mechanism to tell you how many psychic powers you have used and or may use. A Psyker generates as much warp charges, as his Mastery Level is high and spends on or more every time he rolls a psychic test. That is, because there are some types of wargear that use warp charges, but aren't psychic power, like force weapons for example. - Gandalf777 wrote:

Most psychic powers are manifested in the movement phase, but some are used in the shooting phase or the assault phase, just look it up for the power in question and manifest it, that's all. - Gandalf777 wrote:

I hope you will have a lot of fun and find an army, that suits you, but to be true Dark Eldar aren't very strong in the psychic department. The only psyker we have is part of a not often used and considered sub par unit and this Psyker does only have one power, that he can't change and this power is a passive one. So if you want to use powerful Psykers you should think about some allies.

| also although the shadowseer in the harlie unit is technically a psyker, she cant take book lores, and her psychic mastery is considered 0 for terms of game play. So they only way DE can get a true psyker is to ally in Eldar (or desperate ally in some other army) | |

| When a unit is a psycher it explicitly says so in the unit entry in your codex. Just thought I'd chime in with that, so you know in the future. Having said that, Dark Eldar hate psychers. So no psychic powers for us space pirates. | |
