750 Rematch (This time will be with Real Rules... never trust a necron)

Ok, so Last Time I rode with the wych list, and had a lot of fun playing them. Unfortunately neither I nor my opponent had a good grasp of 6th ed and shenanigans abounded.
As I look to the rematch that will be on next Thursday, I’ve been toying with a few options.

The first is to just bring the same list with only minor changes:
70 HQ - Succubus, Venom Blade
70 HQ - Succubus, Venom Blade
167 Troops - Wyches (x6) Haywire, Hekatrix with PGL, VenomBlade, in a Raider (1 HQ attached), NS and Diss
155 Troops - Wyches (x5) Haywire, Hekatrix with PGL, VenomBlade, in a Raider (1 HQ attached), NS and Diss
86 Fast Attack – Reavers (x3), Arena Champ w/ Power Lance
86 Fast Attack – Reavers (x3), Arena Champ w/ Power Lance
115 Heavy - requisite Ravager with NS

Dissies on the Raiders because it gives a higher effective RoF without loosing too much at 750. I don't expect much mech. The PL's on the Reavers are for the initial charge bonus as their sole purpose in this game is CC support and distraction. I even like the idea of challenging any Lords with them and if both survive then have the Succubus take over the Challenge for him, I know the low AP kinda sucks but I wasn't expecting much anyway and if I don't challenge with him then a lot of warriors get a face full or power weapon that APs on turn 1.

List B Splinter spam in Raiders:
50 HQ - Naked Haem
159 Elite - Blaster Born (x3) in a Venom with NS and x2SC (place naked haem here for pain token goodness)
180 Troops - Warriors (x10) with SC in a Raider with NS and a Splinter Wrack
180 Troops - Warriors (x10) with SC in a Raider with NS and a Splinter Wrack
66 Fast Attack - Scourge (x3) as frankly filler and extra splinter weapons fire. I had 66 pts and its scourge or reavers... and scourge have a great RoF with carbines
115 Heavy - requisite Ravager with NS and Full Dissies

Or something closer to the old fashion cheese
110 HQ – Archon, Venom Blade (had 5pts left), Blaster, Shadow Field
140 Troops – Warriors (x5) with a Blaster in a Raider with a Dissie, NS, and a Splinter Wrack
140 Troops – Warriors (x5) with a Blaster in a Raider with a Dissie, NS, and a Splinter Wrack

Not a fan of power spears on such a small squad, if you want to use a spear it might be worth it on a succubus (with a venom blade as back up). That being said I'm a strong believer in experimenting so give it a go and see how it plays. Like you said interesting in challenges.

I like this list though! A nice mix of blastas, lances and dissies, lots of AP2 goodness there. Considering your main opponent is a necron that should do well. I wouldn't bother with the splinter racks though as they will only be affecting 4 rifles in each boat. But I'm not sure what else to spend the points on.

I think list B was a bad attempt to cram too much into such a small point value... I want to experiment with these options but I'm finding that I need to stick to the reasoning behind such a small point value. 1- to hang out with a guy i've not had the chance to hang out with in a long time (both up and got married and became wage slaves) 2 - learn 6th ed.

To do both of these together I need to hit with Ockham's Razor.

Lists A and C both hold this well enough.
A is solid CC spam, using the Reavers like outriders or MSU Bret Knights in a Peasant heavy list. (1, 2 puch multi assault list) with minimal shooting. Frankly I could stand to toss the Ravager if I really want to focus on CC, but my long conditioning as a 4th/5th ed DE player (or even SoB player... Spamming Exorcists) leaves me loath to do so... maybe more wyches.
That Adjustment (List A.02) would look like:

My quick math hammer of 5 Rifles vs 4 with a reroll only pull a gain (on the rack) of something like .11 wounds.

Troops – Warriors (x6) with a Blaster in a Raider with a Dissie, and NS
Troops – Warriors (x6) with a Blaster in a Raider with a Dissie, and NS

Leaving me with 7 pts left, maybe just snag that venom blade again, or swap the Blaster Archon for 2 Haems with stinger pistols... would make rapid fire more interesting with a Poison 2+

Here is a list you might like Baku, its based off of list C:

120- Archon w/ Power Axe, Blaster, Shadowfield
130- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster; Raider w/ Nightshields
135- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster; Venom w/ Dual Cannon, Nightshields
135- 5 Warriors w/ Blaster; Venom w/ Dual cannon, Nightshields
115- Ravager w/ Nightshields, Dissies
115- Ravager w/ Nightshields

Normally I dont condone the use of Dissies, but as you said you doubt there will be much mech. This should give you enough shots to punch through any infantry he has, while giving you a counter assault element with the Archon if needs be. If you want to table him, this is the 750 list that will do it (well... we could do the 95 pt venom thing... but I doubt you want to be that cheesy )

That Sir, may just be the answer I needed! I have been wrestling in the back of my mind all morning with this list and every time my solutions broke on the razor (adding a Fast or Elite choice that just didn't fit with a simple list).

I wouldn't bother with the Power Axe depending on how your friend kits out his overlords. If he has a Tesseract Labrynth going last in challenge could cost you your Warlord. If he has a Phase Shifter and Sepiturnal Weave then negating the 2+ so he can roll a 3++ is not enough benifit for going last. If he doesn't have Sepiturnal Weave then anything considered a Power Weapon will be a lot better.

Also consider that with out a CC unit joined with the Archon or Reavers to jump you won't be able prevent the IC's from poping back up again. If you plan to just smother him in AP2 fire until he fails his Everliving then thats fine, just watch for that Command Barge getting in your face and bringing a Warscythe into your transports,

Right now that's the plan... AP2 and poison shots like a pillow on the face.
