| So I am totally new to DE. And have no idea what to buy and where to start. I was thinking of to buy the starter for them, and add that DE doctor, hemun... or something like that. When I will expand the army, I will 100% add mandrakes, and cronos to the army. Since they are the reason why I want to start the army. | |

| Hi Steamius.
The first thing I would recommend is to buy the Codex if you haven't done so already, this is essential for all of your future plotting and slave raiding.
Depending on what money you have available limits what you can get but the Battleforce is an excellent start to any army and the Haemonculus would make a good leader, you'd also have a game legal army to play some small battles with.
After that get list writing and decide what you'd want to buy next, a lot of people on here will tell you that Mandrakes aren't great but they're fantastic models and you may be able to get them to work.
My tip is use the hangers on from the Raider kit as test models for any colour schemes you have devised.
Hope this helps!

| Battle forces are my suggestion. Everything you need to build a kabal or coven list (as you can make plastic 'Archons'/'Succubus' from the piece found there). | |

| I agree that the Codex and Battle force are good purchases, though (as with any GW army) I'd recommend you spend a while reading about DE before committing any money to them, to get a sense of what other people play and what you might want to play. This is a good place to start of course.
I'm afraid to say that Mandrakes are almost universally regarded as one of the worst units in the army. Some people swear by them though and it's always possible that you can make them work in conjunction with other units (if the Cronos can get them an early pain token, that's a huge boost).

| Hey, thanks to all of you for the help ^^) I have the codex, and had a read thru it. I must say, I don't like to play what people usually play. I want to surprise my opponents with units that they don't know ^^ So that why I want to include mandrakes in to my army ^^ Although I know that they are very difficult to play with ^^) | |

| A word of advice - try mandrakes after you have mastered our mainstream units.
They are *alternatively* gifted, if one might say so.

| Having gone through the codex and mulled over a few army lists, I've begun my slow climb to agonizing glory with the battleforce box. It may be the first such box I've purchases where I will use every model that comes in it! | |
