You are most welcome Sky. I hope you can rip up a few opponents with them. - Balisong wrote:

Yes, a bit more than we would have liked, I think. But such is life.

| Alright! A mysterious package finally made it to my doorstep, containing these little darlings: Well actually it wasn't my doorstep, as I had to go and pick it up at the customs office down by the harbour, where it had been kept for the last couple of days. And it wasn't really mysteriuous either, as the the officer had me open the package up in front of everyone in the office. While I was cutting up the box: "Did you buy that, sir?" "No, it is a gift." "Would you please tell me what's inside?" "Plastic miniatures, I guess." "You guess. Alright, how much is it worth?" "I have no idea, it is a surprise gift." "I see. Who is it from?" "I don't know, it's... uh... from an anonymous member of an internet forum." At this point he stopped for a second to raise an eyebrow at me. Not very good answers to his questions, I knew that. I had by then revealed the contents of the box. He saw the miniatures, looked back at me, then excused himself and took the miniatures into the back of the room. After a while he came back, smiling and said: "That's cute, my daughter plays World of Warcraft, too!" "Uh, it's not really World of Warc-" "Yeah, anyway, I've done some research and the value of these items is blahblah. You'll have to pay 17% of it for customs fee, as the maximum allowance for gifts is 45€." "..." "And tell your friend here to read the terms of EU customs law." " " "Thank you. Have a nice day." So yeah, it was a bit of a hassle, BUT! I am nonetheless amazed by this great gift. I sincerely hope the person who sent this to me works in retail or something so they get miniatures at discounted prices. As the honorable member of the Aid Committee didn't reveal himself on the little message: whom may I thank for his kindness? I'm SO going to use all of them for my next conversions! | |

At that my guess would be Shadow's Revenge, but I could be wrong.

| The exchange with the customs officer is probably the best gift to us all. (Can you say, "Quote of the Year nominee"?) I believe it was Shadows. | |

| Eggsellent! I won't blab on who the anonymous sender was, other than to say that the general sentiment thus far is pretty close to the mark. Now then, that just leaves one - C'mon Rudolph, get a move on! | |

| Nice story, Kinnay, grats for the harlies! ...and if there is one thing I hate its being mistaken for some Warcraft player... But you cant force others to enjoy these miniatures, can you? | |

| Urban Dictionary's definition of plead the fifth v. To decline to give self-incriminating information. Refers to the fifth amendment of the US Constitution, which states that no citizen "shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself..."Take that as you will | |

| Is this going on next year? Because it looks rather fun and I think i will join it if you do it again (starts jotting down ideas for 1000s of models to send to an unfortunate man next year)
*thinks to self, now who do i send 20 talos' and 30 haemonculi?* (coven) *thinks to self, now who do i send 10 raiders, 3 ravagers, 2 archons, and 40 warriors* (kabal) *thins to self, now who do i send 4 razorwings, a converted void raven, 3 succubi, 10 bloodbridges, and 30 harlequins* (cult)
*sends 10,000 raiders and ravagers and 20 archons and 100,000 warriors* (to eye only lol)

| Despite some unavoidable miscues, I think that it should be run again next year. Archon Claus doesn't do much else throughout the year - lazy git - so he should be well-rested. | |

| Whew, at last the raid has ended!!! Sounds like a fantastic gift Eye of Error, can't wait to see you paint them up. Yes, a big 'thank you' to Thor and everyone else on the Aid Committee for coming through so generously once again. Also, an equally big 'thank you' to everyone who participated this year, I hope that ultimately everyone enjoyed it. And now, I can get back to what I do best. See you all again in November | |
