Question about flyers

Hey all, I apologise in advance if this has been covered already but can flyers shoot the turn they arrive from reserve? My friend says they can't and that's how we have been playing but it just seems like a waste of a turn of shooting...

Oh yes, they certainly can. Your friend may be confusing the rule about units not being able to assault on the turn that they arrive from reserve. Flyers don't assault all that much

Awesome! Is there a page number I can reference so he doesn't put up an argument? Also, if I target a unit with let's say the void mine, can I use the void lances and target a separate unit?

Your friend should try to find, because he brought this up. He wont.

Yes, the void mine question is answered in the FAQ on the GW website. I second Azdrubael that I would have your friend show you where it states that flyers cannot fire on the turn that they arrive.

Goto the flyers section and look at how many they can fire when they move certain speeds (4 cruising or combat, but only two of those 4 can be missles btw).
