Ah, that would make sense. Shame really, to limit the inclusion of Incubi because they need to be taken in a particular combination to be effective.

They need to be taken in a particular combination to be most effective - pretty much all units are like that. There's a reason no sane player takes Shredder-born and also why you don't see Dark Footdar. Incubi, sans grenades, are still a pretty solid choice, you just limit your optimal assault targets. They're still much better off than many other units in our Codex if not taken in the 'optimal' setup.

Fantastic job on the fast attack section Plastikente. Can't wait for the heavy support section, I'm impressed you are pumping out sections of this guide in such a timely manner. You are truly a boon to the denizens of The Dark City.

I'm as well looking forward to the heavy section part. This is where I most wonder what to bring in my lists. It's obviously a decision depending upon the other choices, but still, would be nice to get some proper written thoughtful ideas.

I am wondeirng are you going to do one for "archtype" lists and one for eldar allies as well? I am mostly thinking some of the good choises from eldar or eldar corsairs lists. Not one whole post for each of their HQ and fast attack etc.

I wasn't planning to. I could maybe have a look at it once I've finished the 6 sections that were originally planned.

Well eldar/eldar corsair allies do open up some nice new units.

OK, I can see how that does seem like a lot of extras work. However it does add a lott of options to the dark eldar list along with buildings you can buy etc.

Definitely finding this useful Plastikente, thanks for doing this. One thing I would add is to the discussion on flickerfields, that they provide an invulnerable save rather than the cover save that jink gets you. Means that flamers and other ignore cover weapons don't get round it, as well as the 'perfect timing' psychic power from divination that a lot of players use.

I like the final version of the heavy support section, great work. You do realise that this is already over 18000 words long!

Woah, epic! I was thinking maybe it needs some more pictures to break up the text...

It may be a little while before I get the Special Characters drafted, as there's quite a lot of ground to cover. And after that, I think I'm going to take a break. I know there is scope for loads more: Forgeworld, fortifications and allies to name just a few, but I am running out of steam (or perhaps words) a little.

As a newcomer, this has been a tremendous help in planning my army lists. I'd probably be flailing about, caught inside my own shardnet, without it.

lol your fine. This is one of the few threads where it is ok. We are trying to make a living document of sorts. So feel free to comment and add your input. Also that is what this is for really. To help everyone as effiecently as possible.

It felt like a lot of members were missing this fantastic thread (even though it was linked in the pages of pain). So I thought giving it it's own sticky might be beneficial as I think a lot of new users are unaware of it's existence!
