Indeed, this more than deserves that.

If I may make a suggestion to improve what is a fantastic work; would it be possible to have hotlinks in the first post as a contents page of sorts, that link directly to each post? i.e. so if someone wants to have a look at the Fast Attack section, for example, they can go straight there rather than having to scroll through looking. Don't know if this is doable with the forum tech, but if it is I think it might help!

Your will is my command. PM sent to Plastikente with individual post links. So he can add them however he sees fit.

I have a question though since 6th Edition allows us to put in units from different armies (if i understand the allies rules correctly that is) in our own army.
Might it be possible that we could get a unit guide to the different allies?
Kinda like a guide that says Eldar these and these units are worth taking and this is their function in your army.

Maybe, one day. I have been finding these quite hard work, so when Section 6 is done I'm going to take a break for a while (I might also be slightly distracted because my favourites slave race has just gained a shiny new codex ). I have ideas for several more installments, namely Forgeworld units, allies and fortifications, but I don't promise that I will ever get round to completing them. If anyone else fancies picking up the baton, be my guest.

Hmm i think we could do it a little like this we take each race we can ally ourselves with and then have a debate so to speak on what units can be useful and which can´t and then post the collective thought here.

I was just looking over your probability graph for charges. What are the values on the y-axis. They are labelled probability but seem odd. They are not cumulative probability as 0.16 is too low for a 7" charge, and they are not individual probabilities as their cumulative value does not equal 0.50 for 7" charges. So what are they (excuse my ignorance)? Sorry if I missed anything.

They are the straight probability values of rolling exactly the given number. So on 2D6 there are 36 possible combinations, 6 of which give a total of 7. So your chance of rolling exactly 7 on 2D6 is 6/36 = 0.167.

Hope that clears it up.

I greatly appreciate this project of yours. So much that I came out of the shadows just to say thank you!! This guide creates a fairly unbiased opinion on each unit, and provides fantastic examples. I think that this may be the primer of all primers for the new Archons getting used to realspace.

One of my favourite sayings is " You can not say you know how to do something, until you can teach it to someone else. " I think that this idea extends to something like this as well.

I hope this isn't too much of a problem but could this, at some stage, be updated of 7th as several things have changed like defense grenades, jink, charging through terrain etc.

I really enjoyed the read and although most of this translates into 7th fairly well there are some things that would need slight changes.

But it may not be soon. I haven't yet played any games in 7th Ed, and I will need time to work out how much of an effect the new rules will have. I would be surpised if I manage an update before Christmas this year...

but that certainly would be one hell of Christmas present   

The guide is now out of date by one edition of the game and one edition of the codex

There's no chance that I'll be updating it before Christmas now.  I hope to get round to it next year, but work is only going to get busier between now and June.  On the other hand, we probably need that long as a community to really explore the new Codex.

If anyone is looking for a guide to bring them up to date on the latest state of play with DE, I would definitely recommend listening to the first 5 episodes of TDC's Splintermind podcast.
