Sadly as we have not heard from CaptainBalroga for some time - well over a month, and more than three GM posts - I have written him out of the game. The smart Eldar can see that he's not technically dead, but missing, just in case Captain has been unavoidably detained, but for now Valarauka will not be with you.

This new editor really has my login schedule screwed up and I did not see that there was a post needed by yesterday until Psy told me... and I had already made plans to go out and not head home. So I could not post or tell you Lady M that I could not post... I really wish Forummotion fixed this

It's all right Shadows. There was a small gap this time, (although I have noticed that many people don't post until the Tuesday or Wednesday anyway *cough* Last Minute Leons *cough* ) so I didn't really expect everyone to be able to post.

Well, basically there is a Game Master who posts something, explaining the situation the players are in, then the players post, telling what they are doing, and then the GM posts again, telling the results of what the players did.
It's all like a non-restricted game where you can create a character and tell what s/he does and make him/her do what you want and make the GM tell what happens.

Ok. That's what I thought it might be but was unsure.(Very green to this!) I'll read around and try to get the feel for it. Then maybe dip my toes in and give it a whirl.

Well, what Mngwa says is a very good description of how it works! Basically I have an idea of the general outline of the plot. Within certain restrictions that are pertinent to that plot, I ask for characters to fit a broad sort of circumstance - in this case, all the characters must be Dark Eldar who have a reason to work with other Dark Eldar. This could be for the sake of a common goal, for political gain, for profit, for sex drugs and rock and roll, to prove themselves, to gather blackmail material, or even out of some kind of gangland loyalty or sense of honour. (For example, there's an Incubus in my game.) Once I set out the scenario, the players then tell me what they want their characters want to do, I tell them if it works and what happens next, and we take it from there

The most basic thing to keep in mind is communication - if you don't tell me what your character is doing, I can't tell you whether it worked and what happened ... and if you have questions about anything the best thing to do is ask!

... and that's how I run an online roleplaying game There's a somewhat wordy post at the start of this thread starting with "What's all this then?" explaining how in more detail.
