Razorwing WIP

This is the first DE piece I've ever painted(ha my sternguard are in the BG). I haven't even decided on a Kabal name. I want the list to have speed as a theme, while being vibrant and poisonous looking. Flower iconography but with snakes hidden in them. Like Kabal of the Sundering Snakes or Withering orchids or something. I drastically redid the wings 6 times already ha. So I'm planning on stripping it once I settle on a good look and redoing it. Maybe add purple glyphs and such. More practice at least. Anyway here it be, let me know what you think.




[EDIT]As soon as I posted this originally I got this next idea ha. I will be stripping it and redoing it, its lumpy and the lines arent crisp enough for me, but i think this is the direction I'll go. Flower iconography with snakes in the negative space!

Wow! Love the freehand work and the whole idea of snakes inside the flowers. Excellent work!

This looks very striking, Nusquam! The logo is just right - not too plain, but not overly complicated - a sort of distilled essence of its concept.

Now I think I need to make my own

Terrific painting, even if they are just test runs. I wish my finished works were this good.

Since you haven't picked a name yet, hre's a suggestion - perhaps you could work with "Eyelash" and maybe "Viper", eyelash in particular could help make a great kabal name.

Eyelash vipers are very small, very beautiful and colourful, venomous snakes that like to hide on or inside tropical flowers in Central America. Scary.

Fantastic colour scheme and execution, looking forward to seeing more.

Since the waterslide decal paper is going to take forever to get here, I went with this for the wing instead. Need to buy some more black paint to crisp the lines up. It's almost done though.

I have to say I prefer the previous version. It's your model though!

I have 2 more planned, each with different iconography(DE do like to be unique snowflakes after all ha), once of which will have the Kabals actual logo so worry not.

Very different then what I usually see, but I like it very much.

I would recommend some contrasting colour battle damage though to give it more pop.

I like the oringal the best, however, it is still freaking amazing!

This is incredible! What are you using to strip it each time?

I'm using Castrol "Super Clean" and a toothbrush to strip it
