I will endeavour to keep this thread up to speed re: Vancouver/West Coast tournaments for the year. I will list all of the tournaments in this first, summary post:

1) Trumpeter Salute, Saturday, April 6

The 40K tournament returns once again, this year for the 40th Anniversary of Salute. Details and format are the same as in previous years, it's more of a fun tournament than super competitive.

Location - Bonsor Recreation Centre in Burnaby, BC

Cost - $5.00 for the tournament, $20.00 entrance for the Salute tabletop convention

Format - 3 games at 1500 pts.

Awards - There will be approximately $200 in prizes donated generously by Imperial Hobbies in Richmond. Tickets will be given out to each attendee for a chance for anyone to win them. Trophies for Best Painted, Best General, Favourite Opponentand Overall Winner will be handed out at the end of the day.

Armies - You must bring a 1,500–point force using the standard force organization chart. You must have at least 400
points of troops in your army. Dedicated transports may be counted towards that total.

In any force slot except troops and dedicated transports, only two of the same choice may be taken
(e.g.:you may have six Marine squads, and up to two Vindicators and a Predator, but not three Vindicators).

You may use Forge world models (non-super heavy or gargantuan) in this tournament. If you wish to do so, please contact us before the deadline submission for army lists so that we can check the validity of your unit.

You may use non Games Workshop models in this tournament. But they must still be WSIWYG as best as possible. Your army does not have to be painted but must be fully assembled.

You may use Special Characters.

2) Wet Coast GT, Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21

"This has been an annual event since 2002 where players get together and throw dice and have a good time, usually over a beer. The WCP has long since abandoned the typical high-competitive environments deciding only to give trophies (and bragging rights of course!) to the winners and to take all other prizes and raffle them off amongst all the participants."

Location - Executive Hotel in Burnaby, BC

Cost - $55.00

Format - 5 games at 2000 pts. (plus opening gaming Saturday night)

Awards - Best Overall, Best General, Best Sportsman, Best Painted Army.

Armies - You cannot exceed a 2,000 point force, One Force Org., Allies Allowed, Fortifications Allowed.
Forgeworld 40k approved stamped units allowed which includes those units that have been updated for 6th edition from the forgeworld download section here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/News/Downloads.html

The models must be painted (simply base-coating the models is not enough), non-GW figures are allowed, but they must comply with WYSIWIG.
